May the 4th reward - fairness?

Replies

  • Never heard of carvana mate. So they probably could but no ones heard of it. Not my point though is it.

Just to be clear. fairness. Remove probability from packs. Be clear.

How is it unfair? You don't have to buy it.

Then don't let your kids have your credit card and make purchases. Would you let you kid go to the mall with your card?

Because they might bring you back a six pack.

or you might get 4 of the six by the time they get home. That's your real life probability example

Just so I understand what point your trying to make. When you buy something, (not gamble) you get what you pay for? I suppose you are saying is gambling? Does that not require a license?

With loot boxes (call them what you will) in any game like this, there is almost always chance involved which by definition is gambling. As far as I know, only crystals and some of the resource (Training droids) purchases are "this is exactly what you are going to get" type of purchase. Every other purchase has some sort of risk/reward element to it and that is not likely going to change until some regulatory body forces them to change it.

There's plenty of other examples beyond the ones you listed. Don't confuse the issue.

The mall has double drops? That's great!

Too bad there aren't malls anymore.

Well since the only thing you've added to the conversation other than six packs and Pokémon cards is "Don't buy packs", I will agree that you are right.

You listed a few examples of guaranteed packs and said they were the only ones. You are very wrong.

Does that not require a license?

SWGOH is licensed. Straight from Disney.
Make Bronzium autoplay opening an option.

And how does that confuse the issue that the vast majority of packs purchased in this game have chance involved. Who cares whether there are 20, 30, 40 other examples, there have been hundreds if not thousands where there was/is no guarantee you will get exactly "this".

    not necessarily.
    Packs containing odds =/= unfair.
everyone having the same odds = fair.

clearly stated probabilities = informed decision.

not wanting packs to contain this kind of stuff is a fair request, and seems like a reasonable suggestion. That doesn't have anything to do with being fair.
