Repeating GCs

So a good portion of the player base didnt like the repeating mando GCs that occurred for a month; and now were going to have the same thing with clones.
Is this basically what cg plans on using GCs for now? Just another tool to push people to investing in the new and shiny, or can we look forward to having more an assortment/variety like when GCs were first launched?
Honestly not being able to do great in one GC bc I dont have that strong of a particular faction is fine, but it gets frustrtaing when that GC shows up every other instance for a month.

This is the way (of for-profit companies).

CG has pivoted from having us chase legendaries (see Bando's reception from the playerbase and going immediately to the journey guide) to chasing endgame limited rewards (slicing and R8 mats) from time-based events (GCs, Conquest), so expect more of this. The good news, is unlike missing JML the first go-around and having to wait 6 (?) months, you can still get the second highest crate with little to no investment in the new shinies, and every other GC is legacy characters, which most vets should be able to max.

Do you mean JKL? GLs go right to journey guide. And JKL was 3 months between the first two. To my knowledge, there's never been more than four months between Legendary instances.
