Why so few AB this month?
In previous years, December would run Assault Battles at the 'normal' time, but then also re-run them the week of Christmas. Why pull that this year and only run them the week of Christmas? Seems pretty counter to the whole gear economy changes situation.

Will they reset after the first day? Or will the event just last for 2 days where you can only do each tier once?
They will reset, obviously.
Didn't stop them from running on a normal cadence at the start of the month last year. Or in 2019. Or in 2018.

But your answer doesn't make sense, because every December they run for 2 days the week of Christmas, and it hasn't stopped them from still running Assault Battles at the beginning of the month.
I ask because I want answers. But he might as well have answered with the price of tea in Alaska for all the contextual sense his answer made.

Thats an interesting point. After doing some research I have found that tea in Alaska can range greatly in price.
Alaska Wild Herbal Tea sells for $5
Polar Bear Dreams is $10
Foxy Lady Chai Spice Tea sells for $10.75
Chaga Tea is $30

However, there are still fewer AB runs this month than there were in each of the last 3 Decembers.

Because if it turns out that they don’t reset, you can bet the same people will be right back here saying “well they never said they’d reset, don’t blame CG just because you assumed something”.
This happens every December, though normally have some some Assault Battles prior to the week of Christmas. This year, they have removed a couple runs of AB in the beginning of the month, which would have been 1 day runs.
December 2020 has MM on 12/2 and S&S on 12/8. From there, nothing until 12/25. This year, we have zero until 12/25. 2019 has 3 AB before Christmas, and then runs them all on Christmas. 2018 was similar to that.
2019 did run for 2 days.
Each day, I check Events hoping to see an upcoming Assault Battle, then I remember the curled finger on the monkey's paw.
