So one of the first (although not actually first, just more well known), of the turn based strategy was heroes charge. i played that game for a few months. that game copied a Chinese game almost to the T called Soul Clash. The explosion of TBS games came around december. What game do you think is pulling it off the best? (examples are Heroes Charge, Dragon Soul, this game, Magic Rush Heroes). Do you think that its odd how similar some of the clones are? I think this game has some great innovations, such as the way turn meter works, but at its core, it is still a clone. Raids, Guilds, a story mode, the arena, different shops, crystal currency, monthly rewards, Galactic War...it is all a clone of the original Chinese game (i am pretty sure the game Soul Clash was first).

How does this game stand out to you? other than the iconic star wars characters...i mean more of the gameplay than the setting.

i wonder, would EA ever admit to copying Heroes Charge

Fun fact, creators of Soul Clash were sued by Blizzard by copying its characters from Warcraft

here is an article i got my info from
http://toucharcade.com/2015/03/24/cloneception-did-heroes-charge-clone-soul-clash-which-possibly-copied-warcraft/

edit: i am not bashing EA for anything, as copying the formula of other games is not illegal or wrong, but a good businees tactic. I truly believe SWGOH brings something unique to the table, otherwise i would not be playing it, instead playing one of the other tons of TBS games

The copying really goes back to diced based Live RPGs which then became the final fantasies of the consoles which then became these games.

I'm not sure converting the battle mechanics of the console rpg constitutes an advancement that someone has copied. Seems more a natural progression.

If anything EA learned from the casino slot machines games that manage to get people to spend real money in a fake casino and use those addictive tendencies to create an addictive game.
