Ranking in Grand Arena, Calculation of Skill rating?

Good morning,
I´m just curious about how the ranking mechanism in GA works. I´ve lost points in the week off somehow and now I´ve won two out of three rounds just to get dropped into a lower division afterwards.
I thought changes to the Kyber level would only take place after a full three rounds run of GA, that´s what I read recently.
Can anyone please give me a link and/ ot explanation to a clear description of how the skill rating works and when you gain or lose points?
would be really appreciated as it´s kind of strange to think that I´ve lost overall in my range going 2 out of 3 recently.
Thanks a lot

  • https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/252923/conquest-seasonal-skill-squish - they lied about it not affecting standings or division changes. Just through his teeth - lied.
  • About the skill rating - no explanations are given by anybody how the points of skill rating are calculated and the gain/loss of them. In general only from observations you can see that in K1 loss/win is about 40-43 points. But rankings are not explained anywhere. All the talk of "tune" is **** - I think they didn't disclose the formula for calculations on purpose, so they can change it without being transparent.

Yeah, that might be the case as it´s very unusual to not get a moderator answer in 24h. I didn´t fight first week of last round due to personal issues but fought all rounds in the last week just to get lowered. It might be not that bad as opponents tend to get easier in K2, but it would be appreciated very much to at least know how they calculate it. Strange part is that I´ve lost about 50 or 60 points in the week were there were no fights at all which is pretty strange.
  • I have noticed that all of the teams against which I have been matched “seem” equivalent in “skill points,” whatever the heck those are, but I am still being matched against players with 40 or 50+ Gear13/Relic toons to my 7. When I looked closer at my opponents’ inventories, I discovered that they are heavily invested in their top tier teams, but have many, many toons with little to no development. The strategy is clear: by having a large roster of weak characters, larger, apparently, than their high-level toons, their overall GP is reduced artificially and the skill points must also be lowered. In an Arena, these players can load their front zones with darn near unbeatable Relic Teams and still have more than enough left to break through most opponent zones. If I load my front, I use up all my best squads and cannot possibly beat through any of the front zones. Their back zones are probably held by low-level players because they will never see action. To do this, the players have to spend wads of money because to build that many Relic teams could not be done otherwise in the time that some of those characters have existed in the game without much dollars, not without more development in the lower squads. Thus, this new system, in my opinion, is designed both to encourage significant expenditure and to discourage those players who do not pay significant money.

I think you´re right on every point. The really surprising issue is indeed, taht no one of the moderators answers to my question and I think it´s because even they don´t really know how their brand new toy is working. So I just have to watch out for myself how many points I gain after a win or a loss. And not even mentioning losing sill points in the week off GA, which is pretty strange to be honest. For the moment, this is kind of crap as it seems to be legit to get dropped to Kyber 2 or 3 with fewer daily cristals but then getting opponents with two GL compared to my five or six for the two accounts I play. There is no real competition then and it´s disgusting for the opponents obviously but in order to maximize the christals it seems to be the right move.
  • The loss of points in the off week was the skill squish. Not all players lost points. Some stayed the same some gained.

The min/max rosters that you see that are overpowering in the lower leagues won't stay in your area for long. The initial skill points handed out were entirely based on gp, but that is not used in skill points any more. Just wins and losses. You can see how much you gain and lose on your swgoh.gg profile.

The devs have not revealed exactly how skill points works, so no one can tell the op the answer.

I think the skill squish is done because of the divisions 1-5 being set up as 10/25/30/25/10% of each league's population. The larger number of players towards the middle will result in the overall number of players migrating out towards the divisions on each end. They should just set the divisions up as the same size each, then this wouldn't happen.

I can´t find it there. Can you tell me please where I should look at on that page? Would be appreciated very much, thanks in advance.

This section. Highlight any of the dots and it will show you the +/- from the previous day.
