It seems like it’d be trivial to add some metadata to the pop-up for which characters are being promoted and not show it if the player has those characters already.
Imagine if the pop-ups were ever relevant, rather than just pointlessly annoying.
@CCyrilS Do you mean these posts are annoying and repetitive? Are you sure you aren’t mistaking them for highly valuable notifications of incredible bargains that rarely occur in SWGOH ? You should review them just in case you missed something. If you’re dismissing them as fast as they appear, like a normal person, you probably missed a few.
Like, did you see the one for the Extra Life give-away? I did. But only because I take screen shots of them. If I weren’t, I would have dismissed it before reading and missed it.
But I still would have gotten the give-away even if I weren’t pausing to take screen shots, because like most players, I visit the store every day for the other freebies. It was right there. Couldn’t miss it.
Also, CG has decided that some pop-ups are so important that we need to see them multiple times per day. A few more copies can only help, I’d think.

Do you record the adverts during commercial breaks in TV shows and complain about them as well?
Once ads became unskippable, more repetitive, and more irrelevant to me, I ditched those platforms for ones that don’t rely on ads. There are plenty of options out there. There aren’t other platforms for playing SWGOH without pop-ups.
I don’t fault the platforms for relying on ads for revenue. I don’t fault SWGOH for selling pixels for a living. I do fault them for being too lazy to make their pop-ups sophisticated enough to be relevant. It’d be a win for everyone. You’d win because whenever a pop-up appeared, you’d know it had something you could use. CG would win, because they’d stop training their users that pop-ups are a waste of time and to rapidly tap the corner of the screen to dismiss them all without ever reading them.
CG: Plz give $100
Me: For what?
CG: HYPERDRIVE!! BUNDLE!!
Me: What do I get?
CG: …
Me: New characters? Gear?
CG: …
Me: Is it nothing?
CG: …
Me: It’s nothing, isn’t it?
CG: PLZ GIVE $100! PLZ GIVE $100! PLZ GIVE $100! PLZ GIVE $100!
(years pass)
CG: PLZ GIVE $100! PLZ GIVE $100! PLZ GIVE $100! PLZ GIVE $100!
Me: (sigh)
CG: Plz give $100
Me: No
CG: Plz. We’ve only made a few billion dollars.
Me: No.
CG: You said no on iPad. How about on iPhone?
Me: Still no.
CG: Plz. We cannot afford to hire a QE.
Me: If I gave you $100, you’d hire a QE?
CG: …
Me: …
CG: …no. Plz give anyway.
Me: That checks.
CG: Good news, Hyperdrive is now 50% off!
Me: …and still offers me no value?
CG: Yes, I thought you’d want to know about it. Plz give $50.
Me: Still gonna be a no from me, dawg.
1. Already have Piett
2. Already have Razor Crest
3. Already have Tie Bomber
4. Already have Razor Crest (since you asked twice)
5. Already have Executor, IG-88, Tie Pilot, Tie Advanced, Tie Bomber, IG-2000
6. Already have Executor
Six pop-ups in a row. It’s too many. All this is doing is reinforcing that offers from CG will never have any value and should be promptly ignored.
I don’t own this thread. Feel free to post your own examples of pop-ups you’d like to see less of.
Pro tip: Be sure to upload as attachments, rather than embedded images. This ensures that every pixel is preserved so people can enjoy them as the makers intended. Sure, the files take longer to upload, and take up more space on CG’s servers, but you can’t argue with quality.
Also, CG wants us to be respectful of other users’ resources, particularly bandwidth (embedded images take up more bandwidth than attachments).
Time, on the other hand, seems OK to waste. Probably because these posts don’t really waste anybody’s time, if you think about it. People could just ignore this thread, or scroll past the posts really fast if they don’t want to see them. And who knows, maybe 0.000001% of SWGOH players might see an offer they missed and will give CG the money they desperately need. They’re down to their last $77M in revenue this year. They might not ever be able to afford a Quality Assurance Engineer.

Nope. Pretty sure I'm good.
