Revived character and doubt debuff interaction

So, I used to DV level 9 datacron with the revive and bonus turn against Darth Malgus, Talon, and SET team. The first turn, Malgus one-shot my DV, but DV did not get a bonus turn when he revived. The only explanation that I can think of is that doubt was applied even though he died from the attack and so he had fear when he revived. Thus, his turn was skipped.
This is contrary to what we see in conquest where when even just attempting to apply debuffs do not count with the attacked enemy is defeated. Is doubt working as intended that an immediately revived character gets feared? That interaction cost me this round of GAC.
