GL Events are too tedious

Can someone explain to me the point of the GL events? They're just unnecessarily tedious. Tickets and multiple attempts, its just not called for. Not saying I don't like the multiple tiers bc they can be really cool (Jabba cut scenes) but after multiple attempts they lose that cool and become annoying. Also all this after farming all the requirements.
