Hey CG,
Given that the event reset, you were able to get an additional free run (even if you're already 7⭐️) - the 999 refresh count also reset, meaning you didn't need to buy the 1,299 packs... so for anyone like myself who 7⭐️ last night, we spent 2.5K crystals more than anyone else who went 6⭐️ yesterday, 7⭐️ today...
I'd like to think we're going to get those crystals refunded...
How should I go about requesting that, do I need to open a ticket?
Thanks

Don't get me wrong, Leviathan is apparently a hot mess which doesn't seem to be delivering on investment. But this doesn't seem like their fault...
If all they did was fix the bugs - I'd walk away happy. How happy I am is directly proportional to how long it takes them to fix those bugs and how many of them they actually fix. The list seems to be growing as more people experiment with it and find more issues.
it's really good to think about more options in the future - like one of them is that not everyone stays nonstop in the forums and if this was... as intended - we should receive a message in the game. one of our guildmates thought that when the countdown timer finish - there will be only 1250 packs left. the event didn't start at the regular hour as the others before and we don't know what to expect from CG anymore - not everyone wants to roll the dice and wait 1 more month if didn't guess the right intention. most of us wouldn't be so harsh, if we, at least, didn't spend resources on the full of bugs trash we got (i have no idea why the devs don't play at least a few battles to see, eventually, some of the bugs before releasing a product)
IIRC, ProFun had the same thing. First event lasted 24 hrs, but cooldown on event refreshed prior so we got an extra chance. I could be wrong tho. I thought i remembered getting extra shards for that too
Because it deviates from an established pattern and people followed a well known path to achieve their intended outcome - that's why they didn't notice - because they had no reason to be looking for something to be different than previous experiences.
I'm not making a case either way for a make good - do a make good, don't do a make good - whatever - but surely you can see how people would be excited for the new thing and charge forward thinking that it would work the same way it has in the past?
I mean sure, I guess we should have been paying closer attention (because why would it work the way it always works?), but many of us didn't.
Right, but what is it that CG should be making-good for? That's the bit I don't get. I can see why people are frustrated that they spent extra crystals, but I can't see how CG are at fault for that.
I'd rather they spent what little time they devote to this game (apparently none is spent on testing) fixing the numerous bugs with Leviathan and making it live up to its billing.
Well, think of it in terms of user interactions based on established patterns - when you change the pattern without notifying the user, you're at least partially culpable for the user performing actions that they wouldn't have if they'd known that the pattern had changed. Remember when they moved credit purchases in shipments and people ended up spending crystals on stuff they didn't need? I mean, sure - people should have been paying attention - but CG refunded some of those purchases because they recognized that they didn't properly communicate the change (and because people were really angry about it).
What I'm saying is, there's already been a precedent set - and CG has proven that they recognize that poorly communicated changes can result in unintended spending.
Again, I'm not arguing one way or the other - but I'm sure the folks that spent the extra crystals aren't feeling great about that, regardless of who's fault it was - and it's not like CG would be refunding real world currency, so they have very little to lose by refunding the difference. I guess I don't see the down side to it.
I agree though - fixing the bugs should happen first. 2k crystals is an ancillary concern, at least for me. I spent that money because I wanted the new toy - the new toy was supposed to be better than the old toys. Right now it's barely on-par with the old toys imo.
this isn't a case of lack of reading... I'm 12M GP and VERY far from FTP, so the refund is really here nor there in the big picture, but I do believe in this instance it does warrant a refund, as this is different from the norm!
I'm 100% aligned with herd_nerfer - if we get it (we should) then great, if we don't, well then so be it... does not mean it should not be asked for and it does not mean it should not be provided...
Where did it say that it refreshs?
Where did it say it didnt? I am all for a refund if they want to save face and make the players slightly less annoyed about the ship as a whole...but we have had other events that go past refresh and we can do them again. Time zone changes in particular. Im guilty of wasting the crystals but I didnt even give it a chance to wait for refresh. So used to event starting at refresh and ending at next, not through 2. Shame on me for no patience.
After you did your last refresh yesterday there is a countdown to when it refreshes and lets you attack again.
On the battle button after you exhausted all of your refreshes, instead of showing the 999 crystal cost there was a cool down timer showing when it would refresh. Many didn't think to look at it and realize that it would refresh before the event ended - For me, I just headed straight to the store and bought the remaining packs, not even thinking that a refresh was a possibility.
Anyone overspending to get the event done in the frist few hr did so by choice.
Nope, the reset time was 12 hours after the event started for everyone, regardless of your own daily reset time. As soon as you finished your free run you’d have had the countdown time showing 12hrs minus however long it had been running. My attempts reset at 8am this morning (the event started at 8pm for me), that’s absolutely not my daily refresh time (11pm).
I assumed, wrongly, that the bonus mission would be gone when that timer got to zero. I could have gone up a level in the menu, I think, to see that the event was running longer. But the thought didn't even occur to me because that's not how it worked in the past.
The issue is not that CG is at fault or that we deserve some compensation for a grave injustice. It'd just be a nice gesture of good will for the misunderstanding. Based on my guild, many of us didn't notice the change.
Not if you brought the packs first as I did. I did the 1250 packs to get it to 5* faster to avoid any repeat of the previous event struggles at 4*. I'm ok with that decision, but after doing the 19 999 refreshes the button was gone and there was no countdown of any type in game indicating the event would refresh.
You could have autoed the bonus tier.
Or you could just learn to read and be patient.
LOL. Thanks for killing the thread.
Wow. What prompts that screen? I definitely didn't see that pop-up, but I was not paying full attention, so I could have missed it.
When you try to press the button to do the mission it pops up
As far as I can tell, the only way to have knows was to see a forum/discord message or be paying attention to the point where you notice 2 timers on different screens are out of sync <shrug>
Again, I am not outraged or demanding compensation. But those acting like the change was obvious are being disingenuous, imo. Much like the shipments fiasco from 2022, I think this was an easy bump to trip on.
