If you did the 19 refreshes without buying the packs to get to 7* first you got to see the timer, otherwise you didnt. Simple.

Here is a wild idea: If CG implements something "new" they haven't done before, why not make an official announcement in game? So every player knows about it and things like this can be avoided.

You see one timer. I thought it was counting down to the end of the event. Simple.

No you are missing the point , and probably my earlier posts that answered your question why you didn't see it. "You" only got one timer if you brought the packs then did the refreshes, "you" got two timers if you did the 19 refreshes and the last one did not take it to 7*.

I didn't miss your point. The 2 timers are on separate screens, are they not?

As far as I know the only occurence where we have a button with a timer is arena (10 minutes), nowhere else.

It seems not to be a bug because this refresh has to be coded in (an event) and specified (12 hours)

Again not a button that refreshes with a timer.
We are talking about a button here with a refresh timer on it not just an event that ends after an amount of time - two different things.

Yes, and plenty of events have these. The mythic events spring to mind as the first example but I’m sure there’s others.

Can't remember if it was the same for Exe / Profun but it cleary showed a reset time so it was a logical/wise move to wait for that.

I'm criticizing CG a lot but if players are impatient or doing weird approaches like buying packs first and then doing their refreshs then that's on them.

For Executor/Prof, the bonus tier refresh reset and event end were out of sync as well? I don't recall anyone waiting for the bonus tier refresh to save ~2k crystals for those events.

I don't remember for sure, but I don't think so, which is why I said it was probably a bug.

  • Sorry but CG's response to this, like so many other issues, is going to be "Shut up and spend money"

Frankly they should refund EVERYONE EVERYTHING they spent as far as resources, crystals, and money on this pile of garbage just to acknowledge that they lied about this ship as badly as Tod Howard lied about Fallout '76.

It was an interesting idea, but it ain't working and seems as if it needs another 1-3 months in drydock to get working right.

Right, but trying to work out what resources people spent on working towards this ship will be… impossible.

It’s not even been a week, possibly a small amount of patience is needed here before declaring it’s going to take months before they can delive the ship they were hinting at.

  • At the least they should hand out compensation for the advantage lost in unlocking this ship on the first event. When people unlock units immediately they are buying an advantage whether through saved up resources or money.

I'm not sure what would be fair. Probably 1000 crystals plus whatever a month of advantage lost on a useless ship is worth assuming the ship gets straightened out within a month.

Why is it that every time something doesn't go as expected people immediately jump to the "CG Lied" narrative?

I'm not saying the ship is great right now. But it does, in fact, beat everything - and the ease of countering a 7* Leviathan has been drastically overstated in my opinion. Is it the "New King of the Meta"? No, clearly it's not - but it's also riddled with bugs. Can we let them fix those things and see what it looks like before we default back to "CG Lied! They're lying liar fased liars!"

I'm not happy about this either - I spent hard cash to take Leviathan to 7* and so far I've received more frustration than joy from that purchase. I'm legit unhappy with the situation - but you've got to give them a chance to fix it. They made a mistake (some mistakes) but it's not new, or surprising when you think about it. They should do better. They didn't. But they DO have a history of fixing their mistakes.

edit because on further thought I think it might have been intentional that they released this with bugs - I think that fits a likely scenario. That being said, we should still give them time to fix it, and I still don't think it's justifiable to say they lied about anything.

A lot of mistakes that could of been caught and announced if they bothered to test the ship.

I think it's far more likely that they DID in fact test it - they knew the bugs were there but didn't want to miss the conquest window. If they'd have delayed it they would have lost out on all the money being spent on packs by those people that were short on shards/blueprints. Leviathan wasn't done in time, but the deadline was more important to drive spending than the functionality of the product. This is a by-product of the just-in-time-packs model of monetization. I don't have any problem with them using that model - but the optics are really bad when they release something that's so far from finished. I doubt that they're surprised by the response, unfortunately.

They have already "delayed" it from "unlock Furry ASAP in 3 conquest" to "you have +10 days of next conquest"
If only they have run at least several tests during that tiny 3 week period of time...

P.s. I thought beta testing is something that included in release date calculation and not a generous gesture that is added by postponing the release
  • How about the fact that I got knocked out of my payout every day the last few days by a 4 star profundity and I have a 7 star leviathan. I’d be better off switching back to profundity….

This is exactly what I thought the whole time. It's obvious that they knew about the bugs because they delayed the release but also knew, they could not delay it any longer because of the packs... So they decided to release a buggy product.

Because they did. Because it's also not the first time they did. Because they have a history of releasing stuff with issues and claiming it's going to be awesome! Because we have quite a few units now they claimed were going to be uber, that suck. (I recall a lot of players putting all 3 omicrons on DB Fett for the TW right after conquest because he was supposed to be so good.)

Are we just supposed to be "patient" every single time they release garbage that they claim is "meta defining"? Are we just supposed to be "patient" when CG give us something that doesn't work? Are we just supposed to be patient because they don't have Quality Assurance AT ALL? Are we supposed to be patient because they use players as their testers and let us find all the broken stuff? (There are 10 other fleets, how did they not have time to test leviathan against 10 fleets?)

Realize they've been doing this a few years already, they have developed a pattern of "misstating" what a unit or ship will be at. Add to that, their communications are ridiculously limited to just, "here's this new thing" and "this is broke and we'll fix it when we can."

The "leadership" at CG needs to remove the communications gag and CG needs to open their beta tester program back up, even if it's 5 players, so they can tell CG what is broken before it is released. Think of how many bugs there were released while the beta program was happening compared to now. Was there anything released since the end of the beta program that didn't have bugs or broken aspects?

Seems like the leadership there is just falling back on, "players will stop getting upset shortly because they're patient. So just ignore it and keep releasing low quality stuff. Who cares if it's buggy or lame?"

  • I didn’t think a refund was necessary, but at this point, with the ship being utterly useless for nearly a week, it really seems like some type of crystal compensation is absolutely warranted. By the time it is any good, we could have just waited for the second run of the event.

Sorry but CG's response to this, like so many other issues, is going to be "Shut up and spend money"

Who cares if it's buggy or lame?"

lol, I would wager a large sum of whatever currency you choose that never once in CG's office have the words "players will stop getting upset", or, "they're patient" ever been uttered with a straight face.

Show me a fleet that Leviathan doesn't beat, even with all it's bugs. The only fleet that I've found that it doesn't beat consistently is... Leviathan... sometimes. It beats Executor AND Profundity very consistently - more consistently than their respective mirrors, so yes - new meta. And it will be an even stronger meta when the bugs are fixed.

Whatelse, I get that you're mad - and I'm not even saying you shouldn't be mad - I'm a little salty too. But when you throw around stuff like "CG lied" when they didn't actually lie - you lose credibility any rational argument that you might be making is thrown into question. That just adds noise to the conversation which immediately gets ignored by anyone that matters that might happen to read it.

So yeah - be patient. It's not fun, and we SHOULDN'T have to be patient. We should be playing with our new shiny toy and stomping all over anyone in fleet arena that didn't bother to unlock it (that's actually what I've been doing). But that's the situation we're in. No amount of angry text is going to make the bugs get fixed any sooner - and CG isn't going to start issuing refunds just because someone got mad on the forums. You've been around long enough to know that. We can agree on one thing for sure though - they should have done better. They really should have, and I believe they can.

F2P since the last time I bought Kyros, Crystals, or the Conquest Pass.
