Thoughts on jabba the hutt

So I finally got jabba to relic 3 after a strenuous several weeks of gearing him up and despite his efficiency with bounty hunters I find he is not as effective as other galactic legends. His support role seems like a waste of potential as he lacks the survivability of other gls. His overdependency on his allies leaves him vulnerable when he is the last slug standing but since he was better at issuing orders in the movies than he was in a fight this is understandable. And the fact his event was very easy for being a galactic legend I can give him a decent pass. Sadly he doesnt seem to function well enough to be put to good use unless he absolutely requires his unique ability to be unlocked because I havent been able to clear the smugglers run 2 event at all and he is horrible in squad arena even though I'm not concerned about that.

Easy for a GL? He's like the best defensive GL in the game rightn now. Whatever you're on please pass that dutchie on the left hand side!
  • I havent unlocked his unique ability yet so I havent seen his true potential. He's helped me clear more of the bounty hunter assault battle event but that's about it. Maybe I'm not using him properly as I've been told that he works better with a full team of hutt cartel toons but if that's the case he is very selective in functionality.

Please check our Xaereth’s faction essentials on YT, he’ll help you optimize your Jabba squad. Jabba is very good! His team does benefit a LOT from very high relic levels, especially on Jabba and Krrsantan.

SR2 is a royal pain even at relic 5. Do some searching on this forum for a few strategies - it's come up often. Having Embo on the squad helps a lot to get around the taunts. Kill Range troopers first, Scout troopers second. Make sure you have ult ready going into wave 3 and use it on one of the death troopers, then kill the other death troooper ASAP. Also, I only use jabbas basic on the first wave because it helps Krrsantan survive the absurd number of attacks that he has to soak. My team is Jabba, Embo, Krr, Boushh, Lando.
F2P since the last time I bought Kyros, Crystals, or the Conquest Pass.
  • He is incredibly solid as a GL, with a lot of side benefits too like Smugglers Run 2. You can definitively clear that event even prior to having the Ultimate ability unlocked.
  • Lol. Who are you comparing him to? What is the relic level of your team? Why would you not use a full Cartel team? Use: Krys, Boussh, Skiff and Embo/Boba. Synergy is the name of the game for most toons. You wouldn't say JMK is bad because he doesn't work well on a Sith team... Also, survivability is one of his best attributes, and he can force opponents to time out when he's the only one left. What did Luke say to Kylo: "Amazing, every word of what you just said was wrong" :D . I would suggest increasing his relic level, using the best Cartel teammates also high relic level, and using high end & appropriate mods if you aren't

Use full Hutt Cartell team (with maybe 1 exception)
Get him to R7+, relic up his core team as well (Boush, Krrsantan, Skiff are the core)
SR2 specifically I’ve found easier if you do Boush, Boba, Krrsantan, Chewie. If Chewie survives the opening he brings enormous damage as well as a buff dispel. Rush to contract by throwing bombs with Jabba, AoE with Boush and AoE with boba. Don’t ever use the ult, you place a lot more thermals with the ult fully charged. In last wave place bombs on death troopers and blow them up with Boush, you can use the ult after having placed thermals once, but you should be able to win easily without as the death troopers will be gone before your team leaves damage immunity
  • I beat a guy with 8.5mil GP and all 7 GLs (jabba at G12 rest R7+) thanks to Jabba holding on D. The big dude is awesome.

Or you could use Embo instead of Chewie? That way he dispels on basic and you don't lose the auto-taunt from Krrsantan.

SR2 - jabba and embo are pretty required. Let Jabba reach 100 ultimate and then don't use it, just use the thermals. Use Embo to clear bonus protection before they detonate. Last character in P3 you can use the ultimate, it's should only be pne of the tanks as the rest die easy to thermals
  • Try adding a defense datacron to Jabba, but he should be a priority for R8 and Krssantan for R9.

Passed SR2 with my G11 jabba.

Covert coordination on krrsantan is the key. This is the team i passed SR2:

    Jabba G11, skiff lando R5, boushhh R5, krrsantan R5, mob enforcer R3.

I think I managed it once or twice before I got relics on Jabba and his ult. I'm sure there's lots of comps that will work - My advice comes from months of trying different teams and strategies without Embo and I can tell you it's by far the most consistent team that I came up with. I've never failed the mission with Embo there. Lots of restarts without him - and ain't nobody got time for that. Of course, YMMV.

  • My experience with Chewie is that there’s a small loss window in the beginning but that it is by far the fastest team comp. If you loose any toon before contract (for me that happens maybe 20% of the time) then restart, if not then the run is very fast due to Chewies very high damage output.
  • I’ve found that getting Jabba’s ultimate charge up to full but then not summoning the Rancor is the fastest method. Waves 2 and 3 are finished in a handful of turns if Jabba has full ultimate charge.

I did this same team by accident. It loaded Chewie in and I just pressed battle before realizing it, then pressed auto and a couple minutes later it was done. It does fail from time to time, but I just restart and it's over fairly quickly.

I'm guessing yours was a similar discovery? lol
  • Everyone who is saying they are using Jabba not as a relic in SR2 are full of it considering the minimum requirements is that Jabba is at least R3. You can’t play it unless he is at least at that level.

"full of it" and "didn't remember that correctly" might have a little distance between them.

It definitely says it requires Relic 3 - but I definitely remember using Jabba before he was at relics - must have been a different event.
