  • Ah this brings back so many memories, myfriend first thing you want to do is get bastila, upgrade her leader ability and get 4 more jedis, you wont lose another galactic war
  • You’re not expected to finish the entire war at the stage you’re in right now, just keep gearing up toons and progressing through the game and eventually you’ll be able to sim the entire thing. Besides (as you’ll find out later) there are much more unbalanced things the devs could be fixing rn.
  • Just get as far as you can and reset each day to get what rewards you can.
  • cringe, ive been clearing galatic war before these level 80 toons started appearing. i think enemies in gw scales with squad arena since im with the same rank as hyperdrive users

even a low level low gear bastila team wont be able to handle that
  • enemies with 30 levels and 3 gears ahead is too much. gw should be based on galactic power
  • It’s always been based on your strongest squad, if I’m not mistaken
  • It's based on your strongest 5 toon's gp. If you've added a zeta lately that'll bump up difficulty a lot.

Gal war is actually one of the best balanced things they ever added to the game, until you overpower it completely.

If you have two teams at about the same power you should be able to make it through. Proper teams with synergy I mean.

There are lots of old posts with advice about it. If you play it right you can complete it nearly every day at any level. I recently did a new account and only failed once in the run to 50 (thankfully no longer 150).

If they are level 57 they won't be able to take their characters to a high enough level to apply any Zetas.

Did they not change the Simming thing so it only requires a single completion at level 85 to sim?

You underestimate the sheer power of bastilla's leader ability. For a long time it was near meta. People still pair it with JML in GAC to prevent SEE from walking over JML.
Bit of advise for tomorrow. Try taking your weaker teams for the first 5-6 battles and then swap to your stronger teams if you begin to lose/struggle. Been a while since i had to think about GW, but when the health etc carried over i used to beat it by putting my 2nd or 3rd best teams in first before going hitting the harder teams with my best team. helped me complete it easier.........but this was like 5 years ago now
  • @Binary_ix has the core of something important here, but didn't explain it.

You need to bring 3 squads up to the same power level, not one squad higher than all the others.

If you are player level 60 but leave your best squad at level 57 you'll have the credits and training droids necessary to get another squad to level 55 and another to level 52-54.

Because you're not improving your strongest team, the difficulty won't increase while you're working on your 2nd and 3rd best squads.

Once you have 3 good squads, you want to use a different squad in each of the first 3 battles. What this does is it gives you a TM boost for each of those squads, so when you use them later you always go first.

Don't underestimate the power of going first. A character many levels higher can't hurt you if they're stunned before they can move.

Now that you have 3 good squads all with primed TM, then you want to ONLY use a squad that can regenerate protection. Jedi Bastila Shan is great for this b/c she regenerates a huge mass of protection at the beginning of every fight, no matter how low you were at the end of the last battle. Phoenix is good, but not as good as Bastila, because they regenerate a little protection in every battle. Geonosian bugs are good, but only if you can get Geo Brood Alpha and you can't farm his node until around level 80 or 82.

So I suggest you use Jedi Bastila + 4 more Jedi as your main team.

Then use Phoenix with Hera lead, Ezra, Kanan, Captain Rex +1 (Zeb and Chopper are best, since they can help you recover protection.

Captain Rex only needs to be 3*. If you can get him to g7 that's very helpful, but I think at level 57 you have to stop at g6 for a while. That's okay.

Your Third squad can be anything, but I suggest an Empire squad until you can reach the level you need for Geonosian Brood Alpha. Veers or Darth Vader lead will probably work best for you. There are lots of Imperial Troopers that are available and cheap to farm.

    REMEMBER:

Stop increasing your best squad RIGHT NOW. Do not increase it any more levels until your 2nd squad is 1-2 levels behind your best squad and your Third best squad is 4-5 levels behind your best squad. ALSO do not increase it in gear at all until your 2nd and 3rd squads have essentially caught up in gear tiers. By not increasing your strongest team, you prevent your GW enemy from getting even stronger than they already are. One team can't win GW -- at least not now, and not for a while. It takes a while of good development on your account before you can overpower GW with a single squad. Trying to increase your best squad so that you can win GW only makes GW harder because the rest of your roster gets left behind and can't help you.

Also, do you have a farming plan? If you don't, I can help you make one. It's hard to figure out where to farm everything in this game and how to make the most efficient use of your resources, but there are people here (including me) who are happy to help out.

Next, are you in a good guild, or a starter guild? You need to get out of the starter guilds right away and into a real guild. If you play every day there should be guilds with an average GP of about 1m to 2m who will let you join just for how many raid tickets you bring in. Your regular activity is valuable to them, and their ability to beat higher level raids that starter guilds can't touch is going to be HUGELY important to your ability to progress through the gear tiers.

Finally, are you registered with SWGOH.gg? You should sign up there so that you can share your account info with the people who are trying to help you. We can provide good general advice just from what we remember about GW, but we can provide even better advice if we can see what toons you have and what star-rarity, toon-level, and gear tier they are.

while a bastila team with strong shield renewable on each fight seems great, it didn't work for me at low levels. it's a great investment for later on, but requires high hp on every toon (her shields are based on hp) so it's hard to get going initially, especially before you unlocked 5-star mods and enough credits to level them up, etc.
a barris + kylo unmasked worked much better for me personally, since only those two needed the high hp and left my other slots flexible, working with non-jedi and low-hp high-offense toons, while still guaranteeing i stay topped up between fights.
this also allowed me to swap in situationally needed chars, like palpatine vs jedi, and generally experiment with a couple of slots instead of being locked to just high-hp jedi chars.
even tho there is no great meta team for which to aim with such a combination, i don't feel like i've wasted as much time with my choice as trying to keep three full viable teams at once would require, as people above suggested. i'm 78 now and never even had 2 proper teams, let alone 3.

another trick i used early on in gw was relying on the dark trooper with its hp and 4 stacks being regenerated each fight = 3 acceptable deaths per fight, plus he dishes quadruple damage on his basic attack while he has his stacks, which could one- or two-shot many enemies and take out the biggest threats quickly. units that can call him to assist, like erza or mace, may let you cheese out wins in even more situations. later on i stopped relying on him but he was pretty clutch early.

yet another important advice is to definitely invest in anakin, or get and invest in at least 5-star palpatine, or both, for stopping opponents that rely on high healing, like kylo unmasked, phoenix, barris.

but there will always be some extremes and teams you can't cope with. i've failed (and likely will again) against first order teams that one-shot me, or geonosians that 100-shot-one-turn me, etc. i've struggled against a maxed vader once or twice like op as well, tho probably not as early as 57, so i ultimately managed to cheese a win after enough retries or a sacrifice of another team getting rid of a tank or leader before my main step in, etc.

edit: specifically vs a vader like in the screenshot, maybe ackbar's mass cleanse may come in handy, converting the dot to a heal and letting you survive a couple extra turns and take him down
