Please, Please give us faster battle speed options!

How many times can we ask for this? It should be a simple change to make. Implement 6x and 8x speeds. Abilities are made now to look normal on 4x not 1x as they used to be, so there is no way to "speed" up battles anymore. 4x is the new 1x, and we should have faster speed options. I'm so tired of timing out and watching character's abilities take time off of the clock over and over and over and over . . .

The problem with that is we would then be given twice as much to do in each fight and even slower animations giving the same frustration. The cute thing is that you seem to think CG don't want people timing out.
  • Timing out = Needing a second Team to clean up = needing a second Team geared up = more Money

    I dont understand your problem

    or you will just lose.

Timeout teams help them make money and/or cause us to use resources, time, etc., to try to beat that time out team. That's why they keep releasing datacrons with ridiculous stats like 200, 300, 400% defense. Because players want their own timeout teams and CG will instigate our need for them.

At the least, they did speed up Kneesa's animations? But, the Jabba team (especially with a defense % datacron) is still the ultimate in not getting to take a turn for 90 seconds because of how long animations take. That set only lasts for another three weeks though, so there's that?
  • it also works in your favor though, you could place teams that take forever on defense to kill time and make others run out.

I don't want that. win or lose, there is no draw. just give us a faster speed. 1x is outdated. it's clear the animations now are made for 4x. so that should be the "base" speed, and we should have a way to speed up the battles
  • You guys comments are as if you love what CG is doing. If enough frustration comes from the player base there is a higher chance the dev team will do something about it. Even CG can see that.
  • Thats one of the reasons teams looked to be so good because the animations are so slow and long. The whole reason a Jabba team is so good is because Leia asisst like 5 times when someone takes a turn and each assist animation is like 3 seconds long. That’s 15 seconds gone from one characters turn.
  • When JMK first came out my squad would time out very often because every time JMK did his Ultimate it took 10-15 seconds off the clock. Luckily, they shortened that.

In Conquest I need to reduce the speed to x2 or x1 often due to all the DOT effects and so forth. The season with Tuskens was really bad about this. Unless I reduced the speed I would just be sitting waiting for everything to take place. Maybe it was just my tablet, but there was a lot going on.

Anyway, I don't know how much a x8 speed would help out. Maybe they just need to optimize more under the cover.

Noticed this too. Some battles became incredibly laggy at x4 speed. As you say, a lot going on. And I do think rolling out x8 speed or whatever may cause similar problems.

Or maybe my phone is just too old. 🤔

The long animations are annoying. A characters kit and stats should be the deciding factors in whether or not I decide to use them. I shouldn't have to factor in animation times as a measure of the effectiveness of a unit, but it feels like that's where we're headed. A faster game speed isn't a solution. Make the actual animations shorter.

Or just give us an option to turn off animations entirely. Pokemon had long battles and animations but they were self aware and give you the option to turn off animations entirely over twenty years ago so players could focus on the tactics and battle and not spend half their time watching animations they'd already seen play out hundreds of times. This IMHO would be the cleanest and easiest solution. Just a toggle to turn off animations.
  • Up battle timer to 7 or 8 minutes would be the easy solution. I am fine with time out teams, i get the concept. Issue as of late is the length of animation per toon has gone up drastically.
  • These would all be viable ideas… unless (and I’m just hypothesising with my run-foil hat on here) screen time is a metric that CG use in their performance analysis.

If so, more screen time means better performance, means more money for CGs higher-ups. Ergo, they know it’s a problem, it’s one they’re deliberately creating, and so they won’t be doing anything to fix it.

Adding a minute or two to the timer would actually help them in this case. Not that I want that - I don't - but it is a solution.
F2P since the last time I bought Kyros, Crystals, or the Conquest Pass.

True, I think I was writing as that comment was added.

FWIW I don't want longer battles either, and some of the animations for recent units look like they were specifically built for 2x or 4x, hence my tin-foil hat moment. They just look weird and almost slow-mo at 1x. Thinking about Kneesa and Boussh in particular.

  • Or maybe in GAC /TW remove the timer on battles
  • Or maybe in GAC /TW remove the timer on battles

You need some kind of timer, otherwise someone that backs out would lock the team indefinitely.

That would be a trivially simple issue to fix. However, I doubt CG is at all interested in timerless PvP battles.

i do believe they want the battles to be fun. personally i think they should just extend the time cap.
