My account has been hacked

Hi all,
Firstly, I'm playing this game since 2016 , I have 11m GP , I spent thousands of dollars on the game and years of playing, building my account.
I was hacked 15 hours ago, after opening several tickets on the app and on EA website it seems nobody is able to help me.

I have my alley code, my segoh.cc profile, my guild mates helping me.
My account is scribe on my guild , not sure who did this or how.

I am desperate and furious.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • was your account renamed?
are you still able to login to the webstore?
  • Are you sure your account has been hacked?
  • Yes my account has been renamed the new name is Chalbran Leone , here is the link to the profile https://swgoh.gg/p/228845667/

Guild mates said whoever is using the account has changed the name. They send him msgs in the game chat, but not responsive.

Someone on redit said its probably deleted. That is why the name became a default swgoh name
  • I think the person on Redit is correct, which would suck because it means there's no way to recover your account.

Only EA Support can help you

If account deletion has been issued, there is no one in CG can help you

    They can definitly.
Usually they just dont want to until you bother them enought
  • same thing happened to me start of last year.had issues for most of the year with them getting on and gearing up random toons and spending all my crystals. and EA did nothing about it but blame me and tell me to change my password and so forth id done all that and it still did not stop them. they dont care 1 bit trust me i tried every thing.

in the end they just stopped going on thank fully i hope you can get your accounted sorted out.

but EA help is utterly useless.

let me give you a BIG tip. never ever tell people what you think happened. You've already convinced the people in this thread that your account is deleted and they've already dismissed you. even the moderator.

you clearly said people see the account in game. they account is in the guild. swgoh.gg says it's still getting updated. this account is most likely NOT deleted.

your post should have read "I cannot access my account any more, I believe it was hacked"

people are lazy and you gave them an out because you said your account was deleted.

  • Or people talk out of experience. I deleted an account two years ago. It's still on swgoh.gg where is still gets updated (rank in arena, GA etc.). It's under a different name though, a generic SW name. And people in my guild had to kick out the account because it was still in the guild after I had deleted it. I hadn't left assuming that once the account was deleted, it would disappear from the server.
However, you are right, his account might not have been deleted.
If it has, I wanna follow this thread closely to see if he can manage to get in reinstated, because I'd love that old account back, but trying to reach EA I've only manage to get very generic replies that I assumed were written by a bot.
  • 1. If you are paying with a linked credit card, call your bank, at a minimum they can stop any further charges to EA on it by the thief.
    2. Change your master EA account password, if you are able too.
    3. Stop using third party apps like blue stacks which have in the past connected players to other players accounts by mistake.
    4. If playing through IOS, go to your Apple account and gather as many facts about your account t that you can such as recent purchases so you can provide EA proof that it was your account and you did not legally transfer it. If you have spent thousands, then you have plenty of records.
    5. Open a ticket with EA Games.
    6. Finally, if you had a prior account, make sure you are logging into the Game Center with the correct account info like email address. When I got a new device, it automatically linked to an email address that is not connected to my current account. Just double check, and good luck.

All of these advices souded that they could work, until you read #5.

A deleted account is never actually deleted. What happens is you lose connection to the account and CG changes the name to a default name and removes any PII they have on their end. This essentially completely disconnects it from you and CG has no way to validate who actually owned the account. Legally once it's deleted they can't and shouldn't restore it for you unfortunately. Look into "right to be forgotten" for more info.

well the way they implemented it is poorly. i have a log of a account before and after deletion. and all they really do is cutting the connections.

They keep your buy history and a lot of other information. So with that it should be easy to prove you are the owner. Atleast if you are a paying user
  • So if I do the deletion, ask for it to be reinstated, and they comply, can I then sue them for not actually deleting my data?

    Hypothetically.

That's one way to get suspended or banned from the official forums

how else is someone suppose to describe their situation without saying what they think is going on?

OP provided enough information (aside from his judgements on the situation) for me to understand that the only way to resolve his issue is to create a ticket with EA Support

To be fair, he didn’t threaten legal action.
He pointed out that even if CG are able to connect the dots for a deleted account, they might open themselves to legal action by admitting as much, thus insinuating that regardless of what is possible, he does not believe they will take any action to reconnect the account.

Can you not read the part after that which says legal discussions (like the one you are making) isn't allowed

My bad, somehow stopped reading at the bolded part.
So to answer your question, no, I couldn’t. Thanks for the assist though :)
  • aaaaaand hes gone
  • It was never my intention to start any such discussion, and I didn't think my hypothetical comment would be particularly controversial, but simply a potential reason why something people think is a purely technical issue, isn't happening.

I'll be more careful in the future though. Apologies, and thanks.

Why is this deleting an account still an option? This shouldn't exist imho.

It's legally required in places like the EU. Look up "right to be forgotten"
  • It would be good to have MFA before deletion, at least gives a chance to stop malicious actors
