Because fixing bugs isn't a high priority. That's why everything new released has bugs in it. No beta program, no Game Changer program, no QA/QC, just "release when it's close enough."

Because they can't figure out what is causing the lock up.
The buttons are not disappearing, they are not showing because it is never getting to your turn. The system for TM advancement is locking up.

Game changer program was garbage, glad it is gone. Half the time the couldn't tell if there was a bug when we did have the program.

Cool story bro. It seems like there was a lot more communication and interaction when there was one.

As Scuba said, they're not disappearing inappropriately. At the end of one toon's turn their buttons are gone.

What's happening is that the next character's buttons aren't appearing b/c the next turn never starts. And there are apparently (or so CG says) many, many ways that the hand-off from one active character to the next soon-to-be-active character can be fumbled. They fix a problem with one fumble, and another source of fumbles appears on a different character after a different update.

So they ARE fixing bugs, they're just also introducing new ones that look visually identical to the end user, but have entirely different error sources in the code.

There was certainly a lot more noise. I guess sometimes that looks like communication. Not sure it actually was.

To be fair, I wouldn't mind at all if CG started doing something like that again to leverage the reach and the insights of the various content creators that play the game - but I think the beta testers program probably made more of an impact.

Whenever the conversation of bugs comes up though, players tend to make a pretty big assumption that it's CGs goal to eliminate every bug they find before release, and regardless of what software you're talking about, that's simply not true - in an ideal world, sure - everything would be fixed before a release was cut, but in reality it just doesn't (and sometimes can't) work that way. A continuous release cycle means not every bug can or will be fixed in every new release. Some are deemed acceptable and released intentionally to meet deadlines. That's just how it works. SWGoH is not now, and probably never will be a finished product. That's just the nature of the software development cycle.

If the standard of completion for releasing updates was that all bugs were fixed before release, we wouldn't get updates.

That certainly doesn't make it less frustrating though, and there are some bugs the community would like to see fixed sooner than others.
F2P since the last time I bought Kyros, Crystals, or the Conquest Pass.

It’s a free to play game, so why you pay money is a question only you can answer :D

I hate defending their bugs, but, as a programmer, bugs can be nearly impossible to track down, let alone fix, if you can't recreate them. So, if this happens in 1 in a 1000 or more matches, good luck getting a fix.

They never fixed it, they just put some kind of band aid to reduce the number of occurence the issue happen (spaghetti code). This bug is not impossible to fix, it will just cost them more to fix it or making "clean code", this is kind of stupid because each time they release "new content" or new buff/debuff, they increase the chance of the bug happening again.
2024 and +8 years old game, the game is technically outdated, it's still struggling counting buff / debuff making the game froze for a couple of seconds....
