Question about protection

I'm working on GW and I've ended a node with all characters with full health but my protection was depleted on two of them. I start the next mode and no protection was replenished on the two toons who had it depleted. So once protection is gone it doesn't replenish between GW nodes and all we are left with is this pathetic excuse for health for the rest of GW?

After further review I over reacted a tad. I don't like that that it takes so much longer to complete, that kind of sucks the fun out of the challenge
