They are both a huge gamble that probably isn't worth it But the 8 pack is slightly discounted.

Yeah you save a little by buying the 8, and have a slightly better chance of pulling a full character by pulling the 8. Just be prepared to end up with nothing that helps you and then it'll be a bonus if you do.
