Never had this problem, also seems weird to me. You didn't just spend them right away?
These crystal/reward claims are quite serious but I also have the feeling 50% is simply wrong. How easy is it to make an account and claim you haven't received anything. Also I doubt the forum can help you in any way. Did you make a ticket? Or did Customer Support directed you to the forums? Because in the last case they shouldn't according to EA_Jesse.
