Guild shop a joke?

The guild shop is avaiable:

- 400 guild currency for a random character sounds fair.
- Almost 3000 guild currency for a random crafted 20 purple gear item, that can also be farmed is close to ridiculous.

No guild gear only seems to be avaiable. I hope it is raining those guild only gears in the rancor raids (and even there not for everybody in the heroic raid), else we will be stuck at gear 8 forever.

I looked at it as the 3000 guild bucks for a single piece of gear needed to craft the final item, not the full item.

No, it is a 20 prototype, not prototype salvage.

Buggest issue is no guild gear. It fully depends on the rancor raids, where

- the top 3 at tier 5
- the top 20 at tier 6
- all at tier 7 (this looks changed)

can get the new gear. Which is again RNG.

Correction: It seems the fameous MK 5 Cec Fusion Furnace will also be avaiable from the normal item shop for the price of 1650 crystals.

I had one in my shipment store right before it refreshed immediately after the update.

The full gear. But it is RNG so nobody knows when you get it.

So you need a pile of 1650 just in case or ability to drop $ when it rolls around. Not ideal but better than nothing. I need 5 though

The guild coins you get daily (for energy) are collective currency, used to start raids. The coins used in guild shipments are individual, received by beating raids.

What I'm seeing under regular Shipments now is stuff that I have lots of and don't need for anyone. But before the refresh it was stuff that I have lots of that it tells me I do need for people I'm not working on. It's probably the stuff I have already and haven't crafted yet because of the missing stuff. But they did say they were upgrading what these Shipments would include, and it's not surprising to find the rarer stuff. It's just unexpected to see them offering completed parts for crystals. That wasn't in the release notes, was it?

What troubles me more is the ridiculous awards in the guild shop.

@Alexone, no I'm not kidding. I may be thinking of different gear than what was described, though. But 50 Purple Hairdryers, 50 Pieces of previously unobtainable gear, and 20 of those purples trash can lids I think people call them would be worth that in crystal refreshes. That's like 50 refreshes to get those pieces if they all were available and dropped 20% of the time. You get 3 "refreshes" a day for free, 5 if you spend 100 crystals a day. So either 16 days for free, 10 days and 1,000 crystals spent, or 1650 immediately. I think its a deal, honestly, especially factoring in you can't actually farm the unobtainable pieces.

I don't think we will see how this works until we start playing. Once we start getting guild coin, earning the gold for guild individual each day.. it will make sense. Plus its just like shard shop. a couple of months ago, people were complaining about surplus character shards, now I get surplus from 5 toons a day, and I can't convert them fast enough.. so I am glad we can spend them on something..

Same with this new currency, at first we will use the currency but eventually this will be surplus then people will complain they won't have anything to spend them on.

I thought we were talking about the Furnace being in regular shipments. I know the OP was about the guild shop but the conversation got a bit side tracked talking about the Furnace in regular shipments for crystals. I am F2P, but I get top arena spots at payout and strictly spend crystals on equipment farming and cantina farming, so maybe crystals, and I would factor in time as well, have different values to me.

Apparently they're reserving the 'raid gear' that people need to get past gear 8 for those who come in top place in the raids. Only three people per guild will get it on tier 5, and 20 on tier 6. Looks like everyone on tier 7 will get a shot.

No one at all will get this gear on tier 4. Not even first place. Just stuff we can already farm.

Unless you're in a guild that does well and manage to come in at the top of a higher tier raid, it's not looking promising for this gear.

You need to be in a guild that is good enough for doing tier 6 or 7 raids, and be also better than the average.

Ironically the recommend gear 9 for towr 7 raids, which cannot be obtained for 3/5 of the guild.

I am always for having whale only items that most free and low spending players don't have but these prices would even scare whales away!! How can you have gear pieces going for over 1000+ crystals??

Second, I don't like that they leave free players no avenue to farm that gear, making their characters inherently weaker since they can't afford to upgrade them, making this end game for over 99% of the player base!!!

This was apparently not thought out deeply....

I am pretty sure those were MK4 furnaces not MK5! Seeing some of the prices there, MK5 cannot be that cheap!

That's the way I see it, too.

All this means is:
No energy refreshes. No cantina refreshes. Just do dailies and arena and GW and challenges. Log off.

In a couple weeks, buy furnace. Rinse and repeat. Compared to 1 salvage piece per refresh, it won't be any different, except you are not gaining as much XP while saving those crystals.

If you are going to spend that much time, you already have your arena squad decided. I hope. Nothing else to see, so just log off and save your crystals!
