Logged out of Google Games

I started playing using my Google Games (hence, Gmail address).

I've had issues in the past where I got accidentally logged out. All I had to do was log back in again. Since I'm signed onto Google "Everything" on my phone, it was automatic.

Now I'm signed out, and the game is asking me to start a new account. There doesn't seem to be a workaround.

Its just a rename, I'm guessing they changed the system so instead of your name, you now have an account name. I input a name and it went back to where I was before.

I'm having this same issue. It's asking me to create a new gamer id. I'd really like to not lose my account.

I can confirm this I did not loose where I was in game, it's just giving your Google play account a name instead of your actual name
