How do you get ally points when others use your heroes?

Do these just get added automatically as they are used?

I have many allies now but don't notice a lot of new ally points.

I've got 34 allies, and don't get many, if any, social points. I've also noticed many of my allies are support, would that matter?

And on a related note, what influences whether or not I have heroes available to borrow?

I had an actual friend as an ally sit right next to me and use my hero for a dark side battle, win it, get their points and I got nothing. Broken.

Thanks for pointing this out. I feel like I'm not getting any ally points either, and was sad that no one uses my chars. Guess it's just broken.

You would think that seeing as this has been a problem since soft launch that it would be sorted out by now, but this is something that would help players not earn money
