AoE attacks bugged?

Been noticing something weird with AoE attacks, and think I figured it out tonight. If my target dodges the AoE, I think the whole squad dodges. It happens so fast, it's hard to figure out sometimes, but several times I've seen whole enemy squads block an AoE, and the odds of that are just too huge to believe it's happening randomly, even with the CPU advantage to dodge chances.
