How are the avatars determined?

My avatar is Talia, however my leader is almost always Luke and Talia is not my strongest player by far!! Any ideas?

Nope ... Luke all the way XD since I unlocked him about 2 weeks ago

If you mean in arena your avatar is whoever is in the leader slot. I've never seen an exception to this. Are you absolutely sure you have Luke in the leader slot?

Nope..my mistake. I've been farming Luke w/ SIM tickets in squad cantina so it was Talia..I changed it now (am battling) so it should change to Luke? For squad arena I have definitely been using Luke
