After around 200 tries (tried every strategy possible), decided to put the battle on auto... It worked. Yoda's sidekick were Ayla and Lumi, my boys (Barris lead, Lumi, QGJ, JC, EK) killed him. Wasn't even watching... When I saw this, went back to manual to kill the sidekicks. What a relief...
Moral of the story : AI is better than you. Try auto battle if you don't want to loose your sanity, it can work. But what a pain in the butt...

All @ Lvl 75, Gear VIII, no omegas.
Used the Barriss technique. Took around 15-20 tries (or about 50 if you count the restarts getting Barriss & a non-healing/assisting jedi to appear). Ability to heal consistently is key. Eventually got lucky one attempt and Yoda spread his attacks around a bit. Got a lucky Mace expose towards the end as well. Had him in red for four rounds (darn foresight) until Barriss finally finished him with a whopping 1300 dmg slash. It's unfortunate that luck plays such a significant role in this event, especially considering the time and effort so many players spent preparing for it. Good luck, for the force won't help you against Master Yoda.
What I find funny is that of the tons of people that play this game there are a couple hundred complainers. Even in this thread only 1/2 of the people are actually complaining. So there is a small subset of players that want yoda to just be so easy they don't have to try.
Does yoda also get full meter when he kills someone? I just played him and he literally went 4 times in a row maybe i gotta restart my phone or something his turn meter seems out of control its constantly up and even when its low he can attack out of nowhere

Many people who cleared originally are saying the numbers aren't a lot more than they were then. Don't make claims if you can't back it up.
The damaged may not have doubled but with protection you can't heal that first round of damage and prevent your squad from getting one shotted. Charater HP have dropped significantly with 'protection' You have to waste a heal on a small amount of damage (5000-6000) to one toon or risk waiting and possibly getting 'the one shot full turn meter' that will wipe up the entire squad.
I don't know what the Yoda is affected by protection means in the notes, he certainly doesn't have to deal with having it!
I'm not sure a lot of these people are complaining about the difficulty itself. I think it is a profoundly anti player move to change the parameters of a challenge with the same rewards without alerting the player community that you plan to do that. Outside of winning the Yoda challenge, will I ever use 80% of the Jedi I built specifically to take on the event? Probably not. I could have allocated those resources into characters I'm actually really interested in building had I know they were going to alter the conditions of the challenge. That is all. Indefensible really. Doesn't have anything to do with whether he is "too hard" or "too easy". It's about honoring the time and commitment your players put in with good and respectful communication. This is where EA has failed, both with the recent "game balance" changes with the adjustments made to this event. Very surprising and disappointing because EA is typically, in my experience, very good about this.

Thanks EA for removing gear sell, now I'm out of credits for levelup, having hundreds of unneeded gear.
Thanks EA for introducing non-healable protection, making the fight essentially "protection down, nothing to heal yet — too late for heal, character is dead". It was much easier to heal last month.
Thanks for improved AI, which targets low-health characters with high probability and focuses targets often (better AI is good, but not here).
This challenge should prove player skill? ****. It is about hoping that:
- Yoda doesn't attack same target twice in a row
- Yoda doesn't crit
- Yoda doesn't steal offence up and makes second move before my Mace
- Yoda doesn't steal heal over time up and makes second move before my Mace

- Stolen Heal over time heals him for 10k, instead of 20% of of my Luminara's health, which would be 2.4k, like the ability clearly states)
- QGJ doesn't buff offence up by dispelling meditation, like Hubling Blow ability clearly states
- QGJ Harmonious assault used on Yoda with foresight results in two missed attacks instead of one
You still say only level/gear/skill of Yoda were upgraded? No!
- there was no protection, which cannot be healed
- there was no almost-impossible-to-get gear back on level 70, like current raid gear
- there were no impossible to get ability materials. I'm level 78, being on the edge of not-paying players, and have ways of getting omegas (back on level 70 it was no problem to upgrade skills to max level even on 68)
That's currently my worst expirience in this game, which made my change my previously 5-star review on Google Play to lower one.

My experience so far is that the difficulty hasn't changed that much. Yoda stealing Lumi's heal is about the only thing that's significantly different. All you have to do is keep playing it until you get lucky. It's the same thing people have said every time this event happens.
I think it is pretty easy. I just defeated 7 star Yoda, like, in five minutes... I got lucky to have Eeth Koth and Barriss with him. I instantly killed Koth and hit Barriss to red, when she healed Yoda for -40% hp. I just rushed Yoda and laughed at Barriss. My setup is Barriss lead, QGJ, Consular, Lumi, and Koth. I think Yoda became much slower and has much lower hp now...
And with the exact same setup I have watched Yoda chew through my Jedi like a hot knife through butter. Over and over and over.
EA, Yes or No. Are you going to change the yoda fight? Would like to know if i should hang in and keep playing or just go ahead and rate the app poor and quit.

This is not about "entitlement". I did the work, I built up 5 Jedi's. I got the first 6 levels of Yoda and spent way to many hours attempting lvl 7 Yoda. I am older an didn't grow up playing games. I was doing this because of being a fan of Star Wars. I would say 75% or more have said I got em, because they got lucky....
Hahahahaha i finally beat him after about 11 hours (yesterday and today) of constant fighting... Surely way above 1000 tries and for my kill i did exactly the same what i did the 11 hours before. (And what everybody else is recommanding in this forum). I agree with those people who are saying this was the worst gaming experience of their life. Never did i play such a stupid event before... but ok, giving up is not my thing. I just hope EA will never do something like this again. It is in their best interest.
If I would give one advice.. then I would say that i prefer QGJ lead over Lumi lead. QGJ lead gave me a lot of closer tries and also finally the kill. With Lumi lead my toons often happened to get killed with 2 consecutive attacks without me being able to use any heal since yoda is so fast. QGJ lead had softened that a bit... Dodge didnt give me any luck anyways.

What would have been nice is if we were notified which Jedi characters make it possible to win. Lumi Barris and JC seem required, though Lumi's heal seems to do more harm than good. But I leveled up Eeth and Plo. Eeth is OK, but Plo does no damage, has low health, and isn't even strong enough to act as a target for more than 1-2 hits.

All this time I was leveling Poe there. Will take me a long time to get QGJ up to 6* and dump Plo. When I think of all the resources I wasted on him....
I just beat it earlier today after 200+ attempts and the strategy that worked for me was to get a matchup with Barriss and another Jedi. It wound up being Barriss and Eeth Koth for me. My squad was Barriss (L), Lumi, QGJ, JC, and Ahsoka. All lvl 78, g8, abilities maxed on QGJ and Lumi, no higher than 5 for JC, Ahsoka, and Barriss (except for leader ability). Took out Eeth first, targeted Barriss next, Barriss equalized but earlier than what is ideal. I wound up killing her before she could equalize at lower health to have a larger impact on Yoda. I avoided using QGJ dispel since Yoda steals it and wipes the floor with you when he has the boost. I also avoided using Lumi's heal when I was attacking Yoda. When he takes this, he heals quicker than you can combat. I was extremely frustrated as many of you are, but it is doable! Don't give up!
Yup, I used all my extra resources yesterday to max out my Jedi's and still couldn't win. After that I wasn't going to rebuild so I quit... I had 5m in credits yesterday left with 100K
You can't fault CG for your own mistake. Plenty of people have developed strategies to beat Yoda and if you haven't been able to at least copy them then you have only yourself to blame.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have 4 7* Jedi and one 6* (BO) I have QGJ, JC, Lumi and Eeth all 7*. 4 have gear level 7+ and level 76. Eeth I'm working on. He's in the 60s and level 5 gear and I can't even compete for the 6* yoda. I know I need to get Eeth topped out and I'm working on that but I still don't think that will be enough. I worked so hard to get the Jedi team ready and it looks like it will be for nothing but disappointment
