Hi new to forums and the game. I was wondering if I farming Rey and eventually get enough shards for her will she be a 4* Or a 2*?

4 star. You can tell by how many shards you need for the unit. 80 = 4 star

I assume you see them when you get to
borrow an ally. But did you ever notice that those people all have generic names and somehow have farmed enough to have max gear for your level but not shards to upgrade? Strange right?

Well they are not actual people, more like bots that give you a way to test out characters. There are only a few viable leader options and with people like kylo who don't even have a leader skill you would never get to "try before you buy" because no one is going to have him as a leader.

Of course if they made the bots too powerful what would be the point of allies?

Are you sure? I pulled my kylo ren from chromium packs and he started off from 4*

^they come in different star variations out of the chromium packs. i have seen someone pull a 2 star maul before too
