how to get more energy bars ?

I wondering if you have 2 characters, same level, same stars, shouldn't they have the same amount of energy bars ?

I have Resistance pilot in lv54, 4*, 6 bars
and Fives lv47, 3*, 8 bars
stormtrooper lv42, 2*, 7 bars...

those just for instance. Can someone explain how the energy bars works?
does it means that there are toons having many bars in lower levels ?

I think you are talking about health bars. You will get more by promoting the hero and by upgrading gear. Amount of health is predetermined for each char, so some will naturally have more health than others.

Different character types have different strengths. Tanks tend to have high health, attackers do more damage, etc. And individual characters have different stats too, some are naturally better than others.

energy bars, thats the first thing that came to my mind... yes health bars
