Case in point:
Mk 3 Chedak Comlink
+88 Physical Damage
+10 Armor Penetration
+15 Physical Critical Rating
Total Components Required:
- Mk 3 Chedak Comlink Prototype Salvage (20) 7200
- Mk 4 Arakyd Droid Caller Salvage (20) - 6500
- Mk 1 Chedak Comlink (10)
- 22000
Mk 4 Chedak Comlink
+100 Physical Damage
+10 Armor Penetration
Total Components Required:
- Mk 4 Chedak Comlink Prototype Salvage (50)
- Mk 3 Czerka Stun Cuffs Salvage (50)
- 31900
This is just the most recent example that I noticed.
So you can can farm 50 less components, 20 of which are a daily challenge reward, and 10 are blue... And you get 12 less damage and you actually get 15 MORE physical critical rating?! The ONLY difference between those two pieces of gear - other than one is incredibly more difficult to obtain - is that one of them has +12 physical damage and the other has +15 critical rating.
THAT'S LITERALLY THE ONLY DIFFERENCE.
Outside of the unobtainables, we're talking about the most difficult piece of gear to put together and the difference is neglibible compared to it's laughably easier to obtain Mk 3 version.
Come on,
@CG_JohnSalera and co., you guys can do better than this.

50 purples gets you 25 strength.

5 blues gets you 25 str, 25 agi, and 25 int.
. . . Yup. That wins.
How have the devs not been held accountable on this? Didn't realize this was such an entrenched issue... Wow.
He's waiting for the slow clap.
The gear and stats are all extremely out of whack. Early on the hardest things to farm where the white dryers which granted +25 agility! IG86 has 164% potency with nothing to land while 88 has 60% and everything to gain by it being higher.
The MK 3 version is 1400 crystals in Shipments. I've got enough to almost make 10 of them (50 each needed to make 1). 1400 crystals for something that is easily farmable. I've come to the stark realization that the developers haven't a clue what they are doing. From ridiculous demands for pieces of gear to unashamably lazy programming (i.e. dodge being an acceptable means to replace actual AI for toons), to making changes to game staples because players are getting more than they want them too (see recent GW changes), to nerfing toons just because (see Sid, FOTP, etc).
If these weren't Star Wars characters would I even be playing this game? Question I've been pondering lately. This is Episode 1 level execution by these developers. We should demand better.
