Any harm in taking a competitor as an ally?

I just had someone in my server send an ally request. I usually see them nearby in my arena run every day. Will making them an ally hurt either of our progression? Can we still attack each other if needed for rank?

No go for it, I am allies with and message two of my close competition. We compare the way fights went, what are strategies are etc.. It makes us all stronger.

Indeed, my best teamups usually come from friendly arena competition, lol. My lazy **** mates can have some pretty awful teamups to provide... Haha.
