FOTP vs. Geo Soldier

Need advice,
I have Phasma as Lead.
Currently I'm stuck between 2 DPS:
FOTP 1* / Gear Lvl 6
Geo Soldier 2* / Gear Lvl 6
I am able to farm for Geo Shards but still far from unlocking FOTP Hard Mission Shards.
Question is whose Gear should I continue to upgrade since both requires the same Materials?
My FOTP has higher damage output but usually last 1 to 2 hits and he's dead.
And would you continue farming Geo Shards in Cantina or go for Kylo?

Geo soldier without a doubt. If you're not going to drop a few hundred bucks on chromium packs, then your FOTP will always be too squishy. Geo soldier you can farm and promote, and he turns into a beast once you've put some work into him.

FOTP shards are farmable. Not just limited to chromium packs.

But the Hard Missions are so hard to clear for now.

Eventually FOTP and Phasma's synergy will be better compared to Geo isn't?

I don't think the FO bonus to Phasma's proc is working...

Gen soldier most definitely. Yes fop is farmable, but no where as farmable as g.s. ..if u want to have a solid team asap, then g.s., n you can use that xtra energy towards your gear... nothing worse then going 1/6 farming fop, n getting crap for purple gear also haha.....I'm stuck farming fop. Got him to 6*

Both solid as stated above Geo is just a faster grind when starting

Equipping Geo is a much smarter play. He's capable of being a force end-game and will help get you to end game while you eventually unlock FOTP. Unless you're dropping mad $$$$ in game you're 6 months from 7* FOTP and about a month and a half for a max Geo.

Geo is also much much easier to gear up.
