With the introduction of Mods I now have to budget cantina energy on Cantina Battles and Mod Battles? Anyone have a good system worked out for Cantina energy usage?
Mod battles till you got enough 5* mods to cover an arena team, 3 GW teams, 3 raid teams and a few various mods to swap out with better stats as you progress slowly...I'd say ideal use one refresh for each. Cantina and mod challenges.
By having Cantina and Mods share energy they've inadvertently or deliberately put everyone's cantina shard farming on hold, which is disappointing as many of the most interesting characters in the game are there. Like the others, I've reluctantly farmed mods to a maintenance level (you decide what that is- it's at least arena team) and each day I spend a little energy trying to get a 5 star mod to distribute and then the rest on cantina shards. But at this rate, I'll have Chirpa in 2018. Definitely not a sustainable way to get characters (especially current meta ones) as it was before. Needs a fix bad.
I am still hoping they address the most egregious issues with the mod system before I devote too much time or resources into getting more. I have a set of 1-2 star mods, with some 5 star health mods thrown in when applicable, that will do me fine for some time to come. I have no use playing with a broken system if they are going to fix it further, and if they aren't going to fix it, well, I will probably have no use for cantina shards in the end either. So for now, cantina battles.

i also dislike that it costs cantina energy, but i kinda like that you have to choose between a deeper roster or a more specialist roster. In the end it doesnt really slow down character progression, the new max just takes more time (as it should). Once you get you arena/gw/raid teams modded up (wich admitedly is a pain) it gets intresting on how you choose to progress.
Eventhough i agree with you for the most part, i actually like mods and will gladly sacrifice some cantina farms in order to work on my arena team(mods).
