Is Poe really worth the hassle?

I've had Poe for sometime now (think I originally obtained him back when TFA was released) I haven't put much time into making him stronger, he currently stands at 3* on gear level V and level 35 (my player level is 60) and doesn't have many ability mats put into his attacks and abilities. Should I spend some hard earned credits,gear and time farming shards to level him up further?

I just upped him to 5* and gear level 6. I use him over chewbacca most times because he is level 60 and chewie is level 56. I like him for the buff on attacks and when his taunt is up. Not to mention he resists debuffs and they heal him when he does. It takes forever to star him up tho.

If you want a tank, he is a go. I have him at 3* in my iOS account but gear VI, currently farming him till 4*. I am in top 20, sometimes in top 10. His expose is of great value in pVp. In GW however he is fragile especially when I face team with purple gear and 3 levels above me. BTW I am level 49.
