So I got my Sid to 7* would it be a good idea to start investing in IG-88 or would it just be better to wait till the next update and stack up credits?

IG88 gains a lot from the level update, keep pumping him.

I also took the plunge and started 88 as the other heroes didn't appeal to me at this time. Though I had to admit Han was tempting but I'm already focusing on Poe.

I say to wait it out. It's basically been confirmed that new characters are coming in. I'm saving resources for that master Jedi with huge OP abilities (hopefully) and also hope that general grievous will be in there too.
