What should I spend my ability mats on? [general]

I heard not to spend my purple ability mats.Its okay I will only spend those on late game superheroes. But what about green and blue ability mats? Should I use them on JC Chewbacca etc? Im LV39 and F2P.

Any general help with those?

Do not worry about Green and Blue as you will always have enough of them later.
Focus purple on your arena squad exclusively. If you do not care about arena, use it on chars which you want to use in GW once unlocked

The best thing i can advice you : Upgrade 2nd skill of JC to lvl6
the rest depends on you

which ability of geo soldier to upgrade? his crit chance or swarm? or basixc attack?

Swarm 1st to reduced CD. Being able to use it every second turn is really great
