Drop rates: a friendly request

I imagine that a "farm" node is like a casino slot machine---each machine is programmed to pay out a certain percentage of money that is paid into it. Some people win and some lose, but in the long term that machine's payout will average out exactly how it's programmed to.

We are told that the drop rate for a certain item is 33%. People complain about bad drop rates. Others say it's bad RNG.

Here's my request: either up the drop rates (and keep what they are exactly, a secret) OR state explicitly what drop rate I can expect from each node. Tell me how many "spins" I've had and show me what my drops have been. Transparency.

I prefer the second option.

The problem here is one of perception. Drop rates are PERCEIVED to be too low. It's seriously killing my smiley face. Look: :/

  • i just wish i could get gear more easily, drop rates seem to be horrific and literally from 0 to 50 stun cuffs takes roughly a month for me. (not sure exact timing)
  • Yea about those an entire cantina energy refresh and 3 lonely little Lando shards.

Drop rates make me want to quit this game.

I'm surprised the drop rates don't need to be advertised tbh. Games of Chance that can use actual RL currency need to state the odds - I'm assuming as there's an element of pure F2P then they dont.
  • Or at least make Stun cuffs and hairdryers available to buy in guild shipments or such...
  • We've been talking about this in guild chat. Buying an energy refresh & getting 0 shards or pieces happens WAY too often. It's beyond old. Farming gear is exhausting & I'm exhausted.
(And NO I'm never going to pay 1400 crystals for 1 piece)
~ There is a great disturbance in the forum. ~
  • 200+ energy no mods, not even a lousy level 3... It seams a waste of energy that could be used for something else
  • Higher drop rates on nodes with higher energy requirements would be nice. If I can get a puple from an 8e node or a 10e node, it'd be great if the 10e gave you a higher drop rate than 8e for that item. Currently it doesn't seem to matter, an item's drop rate is always the same.

  • This is the last time i put money in game bought crystals for galactic gear ,there is only like 7 pcs of gear i cant use, wouldnt you know all gear pcs i got not a one I can use. I dont buy packs to often but every time i do its a rip off.not once can i get anything usefull ,total ****
  • Drop rates are in direct relation with profits. Drop rates are no transparent. Lack of transparency causes suspicion. Suspicion that drop rates are manipulated to drive up profit without player knowledge. Illegal in some industry. Immoral in others.
  • Just spent 200 cantina energy, 2 shards first 100 non the second 100. Then went 0-15 in light side battles. RNG must really hate me today.
  • ^That's the boat I'm in. I've refreshed cantina battles twice the last two days and have done every light/dark battle I could in order to get some Anakin shards. I got 3 total.

Some drop rates are worse than others. I do wonder if switching to a battle to farm it that costs more energy would yield a higher drop rate. Sometimes when farming a purple I get a drop rate of about 1 in 10, and when you need 20 of them for about 5 characters it sucks, and may just be easier to buy it in shipment if it appears.

For other pieces of gear it seems about 50%.

It's a freemium game so I expect them to make things very frustrating so players spend more money.

If it wasn't for bluestacks I likely wouldn't even play this game. So much grinding and farming and putting battles on auto to gear up characters takes up all the time in this game. It's just doing the same battles of killing everyone half your level over and over to get gear. I don't have the patience to do this on my phone.
  • Drop rates are also making me want to quit. I refresh cantina every day and most often on those refreshes I get zero Wedge shards. Drop rates in general in this game s.u.c.k. even on gear drops its the same thing, most often go 1/10.

Actually no; the more expensive nodes have lower drop rates. Doesn't make a great deal of sense huh? Or does it...?

    Yeah

    Same here bruddah...same here :s

  • Yeah, I had a pretty irritating experience with the drop rate recently. Going too fast through battles, accidentally spend crystals refreshing a hard mode. Well, that's irritating as is, but I could live with it if I could just get one shard. Nope. Wasted that refresh, then wasted the rest of my energy on other nodes just to get absolutely nothing. Needless to say, pretty **** ****.
  • I completely agree with the slot machine analogy, but I hate gambling. I would rather play a game that is enjoyable for Star Wars fans, not addictive to gamblers.

They nerf current toons that people gravitate towards. Aayla has taken me nearly 3months to level from Cantina & she was 4☆ when I started. Im not kidding. Wedge & JKA have both been atop this trend's list of ridiculously slow farms. Its evidently EA/Capital's thing now. Evidence to the contrary is when they heavily promoted Lando drops. You could literally farm him start to fin in under 2months. They did this because they wanted players to be ready for Scoundrel promotions back in the summer. Its killing me right now, which tells me Aayla is the next meta in some way or another. Her super slow drops are the same across the board w/ friends & guildmates. Im literally getting 1 shard a day in most cases. Its soooo terrible.

I realize this is an older post, but I wanted to make this point for future readers.
  • Drop rates are definitely the worst part about this game. Character rates seem relatively similar, but the real slime is gear. The higher up the color tier, AND if you need more, the drop rates plummet.
#CloneHelmets4Life...VICTORY!!!! "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere." The more you tighten your grip, CG/EA, the more whales will slip through your fingers (and go F2P or quit).
  • According to powers that be, everything is working fine. Drops rates are terrible and they probably won't fix due to the whales just spending money and buying what they need in the shipments. I have figured out that this game is all about pleasing the whales and they control the game and powers that be. Nothing will change due to the fact that regular players might catch up and beat the whales and golden boys
