Absurd gear requirement

Okay so this topic has been rehashed several time as to why certain toons get special damage gear while in fact they only deal physical damage. There was a little patch at a time that gave me hope that would be address on the long run.

However when I see now old Ben with a slot adding 120 special damage and nothing else, I admit loosing hope.

  • Same as giving toons with no debuff potency gear.
  • Most likely this is a result of having a hard requirement of six gear slots per tier, but not wanting certain characters to have certain powers or stats in order to preserve game balance. They have to fill that gear slot for Old Ben with something, but high-tier gear slots are pretty potent, so if they gave him something he actually uses it might make him overpowered (at least in their estimation).

    I doubt if his basic damage would increase with say 1k, it would be called overpowered. He already hits like Barriss.

    Pretty powerful yeah like 2% potency or 100 basic damage. I can definitely see old Ben getting out of hand with either of the two...

    Im not sure whether your being sarcastic or is that the worst misuse of the word potent :D The new gear is in most cases a joke, pieces that will require a week to collect giving less of a boost than some white gear at lvl 10. At this point im atleast hoping that they just made up the gear increase on the go to buy some time to finally re balance old characters, since otherwise... well this is just a pure disappointment patch :)

    The fact that ⅔ of Rey's new gear gives only Intelligence is maddening, it looks like CG is still lacking in the game design department

    The gear seems indeed really make up on the fly. I was hoping they would at least give more thought for an update like that one that adds less than 10 pieces per toon.

    Yeah like... Dunno... Do they create the gear pieces and then they are randomly assign to available slots on characters all over the board? Is there somebody actually thinking that and saying like "oh yeah, Rey definitely needs this +10 intelligence piece... No, wait! She needs 2! Here you go my little Rey..."

  • If I'm going to be grinding raid gear why the he'll is hk-47 and ig-88 getting **** treatment when other raid gear isn't as degrading on other characters and actually has a use..if people want to say it's because of balance no 36 intelligence is not balance it's a useless raid item on 2 characters whereas other characters now have a certain advantage because they actually had a person look at that hero correctly... Raid gear should be rewarding it should be a piece that actually fits the character it should be a bonus to that hero not a piece of ****

  • Gear requirements are a joke as always

    But I think the reason these toons are getting intelligence rather than something useful is to move other toons up into more useful roles and finally move away from some of the steadfast toons we've had for the last 6 months
  • I get increased resistance! Yay!
  • The only reason I bother with gears is the bump to protection. For anything else, mods.
  • I bet we never even get a response
