All about the New Gear: How painful the grind / on the wallet, etc.

We just received 14 new gear, some of it can be farmed (at excruciatingly slow pace), bought, gambled, with some being needed much more than others. Here's a quick summary.

Usage:
Between modest (15-30 uses across the board, you'll need like 2 of them): Furnace Mk6, Binoculars Mk8, Mk9, Mk10, BlasTech Mk10 and heavy (50 - 80 uses across the board, you'll need so many they'll come haunt you at night): BioTech Mk8, Projector Mk4, Thermal Detonators Mk6 and Shield Generators Mk7.

How painful the grind / on the wallet:

1. Three will be as easy as the current Stun Cuffs Mk3: "Just" 50 salvage:
   Binoculars Mk9, Binoculars Mk10, Shield Generators Mk7 (this one also requires a few other things you should have in ample supply). They sell for 1400 crystals.
2. Four will look more like the dreaded Stun Guns Mk5: The 50 salvage, plus 50-60 other pieces that you can get from challenges (that's about 1 piece a week or less):
   Binoculars Mk8 (INT challenge tier IV - we got a head-start), Medpac Mk5 (INT challenge tier V), BioTech Mk8 (STR challenge tier V), Fabritech Mk9 (AGI challenge tier V).
   Those are made up of 2 halves (50 components make a Prototype (sold in store for 750 crystals), plus 50 or 60 salvage (sold separately in the store for 1500 crystals)) which are the ones you get from challenges. Total price: 2250 crystals.
   Note for f2p: The Prototype is probably worth the 750 crystals (same price per grind as the current Holo Projector Mk3), the other half probably not (challenge parts for 1500?)
3. One looks like the ones above, but in worse as there is no challenge that gives away its salvage: it's a double hard grind of 50 pieces:
   BlasTech Mk10. Price: 2000 crystals (prototype: 750, 50 salvage: 1250).
4. Six are likely to become the new Raid's gear: they're not obtainable at the moment except from the occasional appearance in the shop (1400 crystals for the 50 salvage parts) or gambling on the Galactic Gear pack:
   Holo Lens Mk10 (1250 crystals), BlasTech Mk11, Thermal Detonator Mk6 (both sell for 1400 crystals), Bacta Gel Mk3 (requires 3 other purple gears - total price 2800, up to 4800 if you buy sub-pieces), Projector Mk4 (requires Stun Cuffs Mk3, as if we didn't have enough of that one already - total price 2800 crystals), Furnace Mk6 (this requires a Binoculars Mk8 above - total price 3650 crystals).

How good they are:
From +10 INT to +2% potency or +20 Resistance, most of them are undoubtedly classified as total junk. The Furnace Mk6 and Binoculars Mk8 have good special damage boost, the Thermal Detonator Mk6 has +6 speed.

Great summary, thanks for taking the time. Are all those prices confirmed? I don't think I've seen a mk 10 Holo in shipments yet.

@Gunslinger87 I've observed most prices first hand or in various screenshots. The TaggeCo Holo Lens Mk10 is actually 1250 crystals for 50 salvage (which makes a full piece, for a few credits), unexplainably lower than its siblings at 1400. Will update the original post.
