Heroic AAT Raid Rewards Question

So, my awesome guild just completed a heroic AAT Raid. Most of the rewards are sweet, but they say a picture is worth 1000 words so...


See the issue? The 10 mk8? Why is there gear from challenges that most players of the level needed to clear an AAT Heroic Raid have 500+ of already? Please put something useful in that "slot".

It's like the mk iv carbantis in the rancor. 1/2 the gear we get is worthless

Maybe a stupid question, but does the HAAT need to be finished to get rewards? I'm assuming so, but i don't know for sure.
