Squad arena is a nice feature. Yet, I agree, it would be nice to have a true live PVP battle where you get matched with someone your skill-level or something of that sorts.
It's doable. Just gotta wait for a match. They would also have to give you a separate rating based on wins and losses or else F2P people would get wrecked. No Rey, no Poe, no FOTP, no win.

Unless the "P" is for (No) patience Rey, Poe and FOTP are all farmable.
