Tournament ranking jacked up

So when the most recent Tournament timed out, I was at rank #93 or #98, something like that, which was confirmed by the Ranks tab. And when rewards come out it shows as #103.

Is this happening to anyone else? Is this supposed to deliberately screw over players?

Well, I don't see any point to the tournament besides deliberately making players feel bad for not getting to play with the new toys, so yes, the tournament is designed to deliberately screw over players.
