Why is my home ship so slow? Power 110k and I fight teams above and below me but I never go first. Any tips on speeding them up?

Some ships are naturally faster, you can see their maximum possible speeds on swgoh.gg. For example, Geonosians are slow and TIE fighters are fast.
To increase a ship to its maximum possible speed you'll need high ship power. And to do that you can increase the power of its crew (by upgrading gear/stars/levels/mods/abilities).

If tie fighter evades it gives turn meter to capital ship... Which one can take advantage of frequently

When imperial tie fighter dodges (and he gains foresight on his first turn) it grants turn meter to the capital ship.

I do this to get my capital ships to go first
