Question about Boba's zeta

I have 18/20 zeta mats and am contemplating making Boba my first zeta. I was wondering if the protection recovery can give him protection beyond 100%, like it does in ships right now. So if theoretically he gets a killing blow when is still at 100% protection, does it go up to 200%, or can he not exceed his original 100%? Thanks!

He would need protection up buff to go above what he has. I think the only character that gives out that buff to non rebels is chief nebit.
