Boba's zeta. Only with bounty hunters resolve?

Does boba's zeta only activate if he has bounty hunters resolve? It seems dumb if he won't recover protection on a kill after he's been killed and regains the buff

The regains protection on a finishing blow.

I am assuming that is regardless of whether or not he has BH's resolve at the time.

If Boba has BH's resolve, he gains 100% protection.
If he doesn't have BH's resolve, he gets 100% protection + BH's resolve.

It's pretty neat.

As long as he doesn't have healing immunity.
