Leader ability stops working in raid after successful escape

Playing around during my guilds 0 damage period I noticed in the raid, at least Heroic AAT, if you successfully escape the leader then the leader ability stops working.
See video below.
Before escaping Bariss, Kylo Ren recovers 4% health at start of each turn.
After escaping Barris, Kylo Ren no longer heals at the start of turn.
