Character focus for Auto battles in Arena, poss bug

Since the update it's no longer possible for me to deselect the target/focus of a enemy in battle. Focus/target is always a constant and hence It's no longer possible to run battles in auto without a single target focus.
This is a pita when you want to run your team in auto to see how it fairs under AI control as it will not attack randomly and will only change focus if some outlier like taunt stealth forces it to do so.
