Joining in the Middle of an AAT Raid

I was wondering if anyone has done this.

Can you join a guild that is already participating in a AAT raid and be able to attack in that raid or do you have to wait till the launched the next raid?

Under raid info it says no. And it's been confirmed to block you out. I don't how this works for someone whose just unlocked guilds, but most of them can't take part yet anyway. But again new rules you won't be able until a new raid starts which puts you at a disadvantage of the guild you're in takes forever on a normal tank.
