I call this my "R2 Faux Lead". Talk about fun! Once I rework my mods I'll make some more videos. If there's any combos y'all want me to try just sound off below.

@scuba recommended that I eventually stick Nilly in lead to give him at least some extra Offense. I like it!

Here's 3 matches condensed into 4 min. First 2 are Nilly lead, R2, Chaze, and GK. Last is Nilly lead, R2, Chaze, and Zylo.

It holds well, but can still be beat by Rex and Zaul led teams. Zylo fairs worse because the AI doesn't use his special/stun to spam like we would.

Please try any combo that does not have Chaze in it. They alone were already good against everyone. I just would love to see something really different

This comes from a selfish place, but I'd like to know how well Ackbar(L), Leia, St Han, Ezra and R2. I have Lando in at the moment and I'm thinking of replacing him with R2

No purpose, those toons are good enough on their own that they don't need a leader ability. @SnakesOnAPlane realized that one of his toons on that team actually did have a leader ability and it would slightly buff ONE of his guys... yep just one of them...

Did you run that team without R2 and did they still win? Does removing Chaze from any of the comps affect your ability to beat Sith? I may have misunderstood the point of the thread though, thought it was highlighting R2's effectiveness, if so, my bad, nicely done.

Yes, the point of the thread is highlighting R2's effectiveness. He makes just about any set of good toons completely viable against the meta, even without a leader.

As for not having Chaze, I've ran it before and it's definitely NOT nearly as easy to win, if I even win at all. Jyn, Cass, Bistan, and Chaze against a maxed Sith team is a crapshoot at best. I've seen K2 instead of Bistan make it better, but it's still a toss-up, IMO.

Rex lead, chaze, R2, nihilus is by far the most effective r2 team I've used out of all the combinations. I can put it on auto against every team on my shard and win with 5 standing at full health every time.

Curious about a Cody lead clone team but with R2 subbed in for one, maybe Echo?

That's actually something I do want to try. The only issue is teams with Zarriss; as she nullifies the crit damage, so Zlones would be near useless against any team combo including her. I once stayed in a GW match for 30+ min on full Auto against a team with her.

IMO, Cassian's kit benefits the team better with Jyn lead. His ability to land debuffs is brilliant!

More or less agree here. Chaze is just a continuation of the rebels meta that has been floating in the top 10 for the past year. Just a matter of swapping out others to compliment them, whether that is GK, Nihilus, Zylo, Rex and now R2. R2 does make for a decent anti-dodge character so he is a good compliment against Zaul, making them easier and giving Chaze a chance to take back their top usage crown again.

The Jynn lead looks very effective and Cassian seems to lay down the law pretty well with her lead but the real driving force is Chaze. Basically run Chaze + 3 random meta characters and be able to compete in top 20, if not top 10.

So what your saying is run a team of meta characters and you can complete in the top 20, if not top. 10...
Well of course that is true. At least you are not like many others saying Chaze and any 3 will work, from experience that is not true.
