He can't beat pretaunt, and he gets shut down by prebuffs like zaul stealth
His ability should be in effect before even leader abilities are in effect. Otherwise technically he isn't shooting first, he's "shooting after"
This singular buff would make him viable.
After all the responses, this is the best idea for a zeta of his unique
his zeta ability should be as follows:
Han has +25% critical chance. Han takes a bonus turn before each encounter starts and any buffs are applied, where he can use his basic ability and stun his target. this attack cannot be evaded. In addition, whenever han is targeted by a single-target attack, he has a 50% chance to attack the enemy first with his basic and 30% critical damage, with a 50% chance to stun the target for that turn only.
he is pretty terrible with all these pre encounter turns. they need to make it so he ignores taunts and cannot be evaded (still resistible though), to even have a chance at being viable again.

Is it counterable? Because if it is then it shouldn't be, unless the selected target is Greedo. Also if Greedo is present he's the only selectable target.
He doesn't actually shoot first, he just gains 100%TM.
Bugged
It's not a bug, that was perfectly fine when he was released. CG just should have changed it after adding the unintended counters to him
Actually it is. In GW 1. He doesn't keep TM over encounters, 2. Someone might go first
In multi-phase battles, he will end 1 phase with 50% TM, shoot first, and then only have 0%, not 50%.

That sounds WAI as to how his mechanics are made. He is still gaining 100% tm each time. The issue is we don't want that to be the mechanic, we want him to just plain attack, without gaining TM

It could b easily fixed. Allow him to ignore taunt, and let him counter-attack b4 his opponent damages him.
Agree with this! Han Solo should have a pre-emptive strike (<100% probability) whenever he is attacked. If the attacking character survives the pre-emptive strike, then and only then does the attacker get to complete their attack on Han.

I think that's a great idea. That's effectively what he did to Greedo. Greedo tried to attack him and he countered prior to Greedo's attack. Since Greedo died from the preemptive strike, his attack failed. Sounds reasonable to apply the same mechanics to the game. Give Han a % chance to counter attack and a unique ability that allows his counter attacks to occur BEFORE the enemies attack
Zeta: Shoot First ignores taunt and stealth, cannot be evaded, deals additional damage equal to 25% of the target's maximum HP, and increases a random cooldown by 2, which cannot be resisted.

that sounds a little too OP to take out 25% hp immediately

Agreed there, but at least compromise with this, and we can fix the other stuff using R2 and a jyn lead
+1

Right now this grand Raid reward is garbage. One could argue that Stormtropper Han is more viable.

But greedo must miss!

It's not WAI

HAN SHOOTS FIRST!
it would be pretty cool, but possibly OP?
What about if he gets targeted by a non aoe attack he has a 75% chance to counter before the attack. With a 50% chance at a critical.

Leia was attacking 4x for months. Wiggs was ruling arena for quite a while...pre-taunt killed them too.
But, they WAY over-compensated w/ Chaze that has pre-taunt, 2 dispels, tm gain, heals, cleanse, tenacity up, heavy hits and mad survivability.

But would he still get bonuses from the leader ability he is under with that?
