Vampire_X , no offense, buddy, but you sound like you were one of those kids in school who spent most of their time saying "NUH UHHHH!" and wiping their nose.

It's funny how anytime a person starts a sentence or statement with "no offense", somebody's usually about to get offended.

Lol - too true. "No offense" = "I am about to say something that will UNDOUBTEDLY offend you."
In game name: Lucas Gregory FORMER PLAYER - - - -"Whale blah grump poooop." - Ouchie

    In game guild: TNR Uprising
I beat the REAL T7 Yoda (not the nerfed one) and did so before mods were there to help

    Few things

    1) if you don't game often then calling yourself a whale is either a direct lie to your main point or a silly way to say you spent money

    2) whales enjoy advantage not speed so you are not s whale and doubt a large spender otherwise your on meta like many of us and have yoda

    3) your cash speeds up the game invalidating your chore and grind points, that is a valid f2p arguement though

It sounds like you spent a few hundred did get in meta probably went heavy droid or Poe , and have no desire to spend more or learn the new speed and mets change

A whale spends his way out of all your arguments so you are a ranter who quit not a whale, your arguement toward democratic socialism is correctly not a gaming arguement

90% of your posts are based of assumptions.

Your making his and others point. When you purchase something you expect it to function over time not over a month.

Most games you can invest and then use those powerful characters over time to gain this advantage you talk about. Here that swing is taking place based on some loud board members.

Yet to be seen if you all can be loud enough to silence the nerf calls I predicted with Sid, Dooku, GS and others.

The tears will be much sweeter when the nerf monsters get there justice.

    No insult :)

Also I was that guy in school who liked facts not emotions. It's why I got a Ph.D. In engineering but I'm also sarcastic in tone and enjoy crusades :(

  • As a F2P I thank you for your contributions but without the grind then I feel you will not know what satisfaction is with a game like this when you finally accomplish something because you're just throwing cash to get instant gratification.. As a FTP I was very happy when I broke top 500 . Next thing I know Im now top 50 and I feel good. If you just pay your way through for instant gratification then expect to lose interest just as quickly.

Have you even read what he had to say? or were you stuck with the word "whale" and decided that you needed to give your opinion on what the term means and who can or cannot be called such?

So please if you don´t have the information don´t make assumptions on what pulled the trigger of deciding to quit, something that many players, independent of f2p or p2p, have been thinking about recently.
  • Once the level cap increases and I have to farm all those 50 pieces to get to gear IX, ill probably be right with you mentally OP.

No I pointed out his fallacy logic

Quitting is personal until you post then you open yourself up to others getting to respond

Just because we disagree doesn't make one of us right , it means we don't agree

You want definitive answers to a subjective thing, many here love the game and spend or simply play and even further love the changes and I have a fully loaded Poe and droids who lost some value but for good reasons and a longer healthier game

So quit if you want but many here won't martyr you for the post we will point out its deficits because we obviously are still bought in and I post complaints and solutions

    Flame on !

Ps I hate you auto correcting phones !

  • agree with the original poster 100%, they just keep making this game harder and harder, rewards getting smaller and smaller, grind getting longer and longer, fun getting slimmer and slimmer

when I started playing this game in december I was happy with the rewards and drop rates, so I paid quite a bit of money, now that all the rewards are just getting nerfed over and over again im losing the will to play, if I knew they would do this I never would of "invested" in this game. They really shouldnt nerf rewards in a game people paid money for, people pay assuming they can keep the growth rate they started with, but when they change that its dishonest in my opinion

Both this guy and the original poster have nailed it. EA/CG seems to be making the game more difficult instead of more fun. The Yoda event and Shard shop character are examples of this. There has been no new content for f2p or casual spenders since the Force Awakens launched almost 2 months ago. AND the game still needs a lot of bug fixes and new bugs pop up in old places with each update. I was looking forward to the new event but it's a major letdown. I like this game and am giving the devs one more chance that gives ME something to enjoy doing. A story mode, unique challenges, new limited-time chapters.. ANYTHING.
  • lol, I like how people say, I made an investment in this game, which is about as useful as the investment people make to a stripper, there is no skill involved in climbing ranks, at least in Need for Speed you could buy cars yes, Parts, maybe more of a pay2win feature sure, but in the end you can know your lines know the physics, know the track and execution is still 10/10ths of the equation every single time. So whats there to do now, pay more for upcoming events, seems like the only event going on around here is the cash counting party in the office after every shift.

That's the reason, why i wait at least 3 updates before spending Money (for all f2p games). But here game updates failed totally.

"The phrase caveat emptor arises from the fact that buyers typically have less information about the good or service they are purchasing, while the seller has more information. The quality of this situation is known as 'information asymmetry'. Defects in the good or service may be hidden from the buyer, and only known to the seller."

Possibly the funniest post I've read here...

Not that it matters, but I've spent north of 1k, I've played everyday since I began, I've "gone heavy" on many characters... I believe I have 12 fully loaded at level 70, including Yoda. If I offended you by using the word "Whale" I'm apologize, I'm sure I'm not 100% spun up on the gamer lingo. By the way, I can guarantee that you are the first, and probably the last person to refer to me and Democratic Socialism in the same post! So, congratulations on that!

I'm guessing mathematical engineering? Cause I used to actually work with a PE and people who get out from behind a computer all day (granted we had computer time) are better equipped to deal with the world.

    I.e. Be socially adapted.
  • Here are a few things you need to know: (stop reading if you don't care) (but that's strange because you got click-baited hoping to swim in whale tears)

    1. EA failed to meet their revenue goals in the last quarter of 2015 despite strong revenue from StarWars Battlefront over the Christmas season where physical copies destroyed e-copies. (*SPOILER* They are looking for revenue everywhere.)
    2. Digital copy of SWBF on Playstation store was slashed recently by 50%. (terrible feels all round for those that bought it at the SRP, in Canada it was like $80 pre-tax due to the exchange rate, though major retails dropped it to $50 during boxing month - I got mine as part of a PS4 bundle, saw this coming and flipped it while it was hot, GG)
    3. SWGOH is top 10 grossing currently.

While many may feel that update with Yoda and then launch of a training pack special plus a jedi bundle with characters that you could farm but you need NOW to get Yoda may be money grabbing. Reality check: no one said you needed the flashy little green guy to play! I mean, I can understand if I was playing Magic The Gathering Online, dumps in $1,000 and then cash out for physical cards somewhere down the road (which I won't be doing anymore because of the exchange rate). Yes, I have fallen into the trap of instant progression and have made purchases 100% knowing that I will get nothing except for pixels out of my transaction. Deal with it.

Now imagine if the graphics was not Star Wars and was ... Ninja Turtles or My Little Pony. Would you pay/commit the same level of time/RL money? The science of marketing and brands is strong with EA. Ultimately, if you are having fun, then go nuts. If you are not, then stop and uninstall. When EA management sees the number dip then and only then will they even consider changing their product strategy.

Too bad human beings are mostly weaklings trained on impulse and cannot even deal with simple waiting. Welcome to SWGOH - online slot machine where there is no prizes to be won! (and can you imagine the day when they pull the plug on the servers and actually give you "Ninja Turtles - Guardians of the Sewers"? haha) Now I will go back staring at the screen wondering if I should pay my way to 5* Jedi units to get the sweet sweet green ball of death. #Lifechoices

Which is funny since the OP runs his own LARGE manufacturing firm but cant grasp this concept, obviously not a business graduate.

The problem with EA is the same problem we see in other businesses today. They aren't going to do anything that costs them money unless it makes them money. I would imagine the playtesters and the designers have very different private ideas about how changes are implemented, and the testers probably aren't being listened to.

I work in a carry-out restaurant where the oven hasn't been cleaned in three years and the air conditioning doesn't keep the store below ninety degrees in the summertime. Why is it like that? Because fixing those problems would cost twenty thousand dollars that would not make the owners any more money. In this new capitalism, what's right and fair is meaningless compared to the bottom line. It will only get worse as we move towards socialism and then tyranny. This game and ones like it are merely symptoms of our societal decay. Fun though, most of the time.

Since when do people that own large manufacturing companies refer to them as large? It's always fair, average, or good sized. I mean I don't go around saying I have a large _____, I say it's above average :-)

Yes, saying the company I run is "large", was a little D-Baggish. Honestly, didn't realize I put the word "large" in the post until you called me out on it... Well played... However, with that said, it is freaking huge!!

Where do you get that from? Why the ad hominem attacks simply because he used an adjective to describe his business? The op understands the value of feedback, both negative and positive. He provided it in a level headed and articulate manner. Think he's so off? Then why do companies, websites, and other for-profit organizations often ask for feedback even after an individual returns they're product, cancels their membership, etc? The answer is because it helps them improve their product or service for future customers/clients/members.
  • This forum has gotten extremely toxic as of late.

    *Just thinking out loud*
  • Star Wars is the drug and we are the subjects.

the devs use this on us.

Make us a pay a fortune to get a minimal small advantage

I'm no whale, but feel my 500$ has gotten me barely any advantage at all (as in, I have no exclusive toons) in this game and unless things change, they aren't getting another dime out of me.

    Bad drop rates
    Bas shard shop conversion
Announcing nerfs but actually nerfing more then planed
Annoucing a jedi event, a few days in advance then asking 85$ canadian for barely anything that will help you in game

Problem is, they have us by the balls and they know it. For every person like that quits, another new person spends like crazy.

They have a big ocean filled with fish, and until they start to become instinct, they will squeeze every single for barely no ROI as much as they can.

Actually, I do have a business degree, not a PHD in engineering like some, but I do hire them if that counts for anything. I'm sure my point about how building long term-brand loyalty will ultimately net stability and sustained profitability flew right over you head.
