I've submitted a ticket, no response yet from CG, Ive also got onto ea who directed me to a help service for console games (clap clap)
and ive also contacted Google directly, ive attached the conversation above etc
I've also received a mail from Google telling me to update them and to send the screenshots of all correspondance from this forum if rewards are not upheld etc. They have given me a case ID number which i will share if anyone else wants to go that route if CG continue to be unresponsive regarding this
So basically the moderators on here have been ill informed and caused alot of people to spend money on google play cards for nothing as it hasnt even gone live in europe yet, wow, lol
I should maybe add that i specified my question to gravis if this applies for the whole german market and if he as information if this applies for the european market. I will update as soon as I have an answer

I also created an EA help case this morning and was on the phone with them for some time. They asked for screenshots proving my gift card purchase and such, so hopefully their specialists can do the right thing and credit my account with the rewards.
For those contacting EA, I'd suggest requesting a phone call rather than an email.
If EA doesn't end up providing the reward, as promised, this is absolutely unacceptable. False advertising approaching the same level as the Captain Han Solo fiasco. No, I didn't pay several vaults on refreshes as some did for Captan Han, but I spent a sizeable amount of money on a Google Play card at the OFFICIAL PROMOTION from this OFFICIAL site.

Keep me in the loop! So Google confirmed this is 100% on EA. Good. I'm sure they can apply some pressure to help fix this. I can imagine it's a headache to manually issue those rewards, but it's been a couple of days - it's easy enough for them to get a policy where you get these things redeemed. Even if it means some dev is sending console commands to their app server to fake the google reward creation.
Thanks so much for taking initiative on this, I think we need to keep the pressure up until they make this right. And let's make sure if anyone is getting things in writing (tickets, etc) that they're not going to honor this that we get it over to Dave so he can compile for Google.

This. Exactly this. Instead of disabling the link showing which retailers you can get gift cards from, they should post a warning to stop buying altogether. @CG_Kozispoon 's message on the Rey's Heroes Journey thread implies that the gift cards can still be purchased and the reward will be applied, but they're just gathering a list to help us find the retailers. This implies that someone smart enough to find a gift card online on their own would still receive the rewards.

I do see there are some promotions for the Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes application. This is a promotion that is provided through the developer. In this case, it would be best for you to contact EA with the issue. You can reach them here: help@eamobile.com.

Explain to them that you purchased a Play card based on the advertised promo through their website but didn't receive the correct items.

Do I have a retroactive claim to the reward?
Almost everyone in the top 50 in my arena has 7 * Rey except me.

I don't get it, I just complimented EA for how active they are on the forum, using the example of the thread they removed super fast (the one that gathered "evidence" about a "scam" they would allegedly have conducted regarding these gift cards; a lot of nonsense if you ask me), happy to confirm they listen to us!

I bought my Google Play Card regularly at the store. 2 x 50 €.
I thought the promotion is international and legal.
I hope that the players can still receive their reward retroactively. Because everything else would be scam .
So I got an answer by Gravis again. He confirmed that the German promotion starts 20th November. And also told me that all listed retailers for Germany participate as far as his information goes.
He had no information regarding European market though.

EA/CG really needs to own up to this. False advertising is serious and deserving of class action suites or other legal repercussions.
