Registering

It still boggles my mind that every guild member isn't automatically registered for Pit/HAAT/TW's. It's the entire point of being in a guild.

TW, makes sense, it allows people to take a break or not participate if they are just not going to be around.

raids would be nice to see this, at least for people who have contributed tickets.

Every (smart) game that some kind of guild war lets members opt in. If it automatically registered all 50 members for TW and one of your guild members was on vacation or otherwise offline, you would be hurting both offensively and defensively.
With raids it wouldn't so much hurt the guild if people didn't participate but if you can't be bothered to open the game and register at the least a zero damage score why should you get the rewards?

True but you did contribute to the ability to open the raid. and someone accidentally solos the raid at the wrong time and you are out of luck. anyone who contributes to the raid being opened should get credit for at least a 0 post.

    ^ There's that.
For most (competitive) TW guilds, they're subbing people out who are on vacation. You should automatically be opted in with the option to opt out (optoptopt) if you don't want to participate for some reason. I've seen people who thought they had joined only discover their mistake after a TW or raid started and it was too late. That's messed up, but it happens.
